Who else also paid for the National Identity Card being issued by NIMC? Are we supposed to pay?

Why would anyone even accept to pay?

they charged 1000 before giving me the form.
after registration, they told me they couldn't print out the second slip because there was internal error but if i bring another 1000, it will be rectified immediately or else i should come back after 2 weeks.

Have u gone back to collect it? My worry is that: this is a federal government programme, is the money going directly into government's purse? Are the NIMC officials the ones extorting the masses?

Do you have any idea if their office at Alausa Ikeja is open now? I went there 2 weeks ago to do my registration and was told they've not opened because of the covid-19 lockdown

They charged me 2k
