One often-asked question is this: What has the Buhari-Osinbajo-led administration done in/for the South-East? I will be giving you few things this progressive Administration is doing and has done. 1. 600 km of roads under construction across the 5 states of the region, as at May 2017 2. Allocation of 16.67 billion Naira from the Federal Government’s October 2017 SUKUK Bond, to four critical road projects in the region: a) Rehabilitation of Onitsha-Enugu Expressway b) Rehabilitation of Sections 1, 2 and 3 of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Road. 3a. Continuation of Early Works on the Second Niger Bridge. Phase 4 Early Works more than 60 percent completed. 3b. Inclusion of Second Niger Bridge in the list of projects to be funded by the newly-established Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund (PIDF), the Buhari Administration’s infrastructure fast-track initiative, launched in May 2018. 4. Osinbajo flag-off the N-Power Build Programme, the Buhari Administration’s Vocational Training and Apprenticeship programme, took place in Enugu State, on the premises of Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company Limited (ANAMMCO Limited). 5. More than 22,000 graduates currently benefiting from N-Power, across the five States of the Southeast, receiving a total of N679 million in N-Power Stipends monthly. Another 43,000 Volunteers will be joining them, when the second phase kicks off, very soon. In addition, 1,416 trainees are currently participating in the newly-launched N-Power Build, and an additional 1,900 trainees will come on board before the end of June 2018. A scheme flawlessly ran by VP Osinbajo. 6. The National Home Grown School Feeding Programme, which provides one meal a day to public primary school children, currently feeds more than 680,000 children, and employs 7,366 cooks, across Enugu, Anambra, Imo and Abia States. 7. GEEP, the micro-credit component of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) has disbursed a total of N1.2 billion in loans to 24,155 beneficiaries across the South East. 8. Commencement, in October 2017, of payment of pensions to police officers who were granted Presidential pardon in 2000 after serving in the former Biafran Police during the Nigerian Civil War. These officers, and their next of kin, have waited for their pensions for 17 years since the Presidential pardon. 9. Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (PFI): Ebonyi was among the first few State Government’s to sign up to this Programme. The result is the revitalization of a moribund Fertilizer Blending Plant in Abakaliki, which now supplies NPK Fertilizer to farmers in the State and beyond. 10. The 2018 budget proposal has allocated up to N10 billion for the development of the Enyimba Industrial Park and Nnewi Auto Park, as part of the Federal Government’s Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Initiative. Both projects will be implemented in collaboration with the respective state Governments, and the private sector. 11. Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Projects, to boost power supply: 11a. Commissioning/Switching-on, on Monday, 21st November, 2016, of the Ikot-Ekpene-Alaoji-Ugwuaji Switching Station and Transmission Line, comprising a total of 287 kilometers of double circuit Transmission lines ( Ikot Ekpene — Calabar; Ikot-Ekpene — Alaoji, and Ikot-Ekpene — Ugwuaji) The new infrastructure will increase transmission grid capacity all the way to Enugu, and provide transmission capacity for power plants along the lines. The project had been stalled for about two years prior to that, due to community and court issues. One of the community issues arose in a community in Oronta in Abia State, which went to court to stop work on the section that passed through their territory. The Government in power at the time decided to engage the community in a court battle, which resulted in two years of delay. Upon assuming office, the Buhari Government changed the approach, choosing instead to focus on engage with the community’s leaders, to resolve the situation. The Government then engaged the services of a consultant, Amanze Uchegbulam, who helped bring the Eze of Oronta and other leaders to the negotiating table. Negotiations were successfully concluded with the signing of terms of settlement, which included taking the case out of court. Engineers were able to return to site, and the project was completed and commissioned in November 2016. 11b. Installation of new 45MVA Transformer at Oji River Substation, to benefit Nsukka & Environs, Water works & Environs, Urumba & Environs, Ninth Mile & Environs, Uji & Environs 11c. Installation of two new 30MVA Transformers at the New Haven Substation, Enugu. 11d. Energizing of second Asaba — Benin 330kV Line (131km) 11e. Upgrade of Aba — Itu — Calabar 132kV Line (87km) 12. Presidential Approval for commencement of Coastal Railway Project. Negotiations for Concessional Funding from China Exim Bank ongoing. The Coastal Rail will pass through the Southeast (connections to Aba and Onitsha), and inclusion of Counterpart funding for the project in the 2017 and 2018 Budgets. 13. The Ariaria Market Power Project — in progress. The Federal Government Nigeria (FGN) is working to ensure that the Ariaria International Market in Aba, Abia State, enjoys round-the-clock electricity. To that end, the Energizing Economies Programme of the Buhari Administration has commenced construction of a 5MW Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered Independent Power Plant (IPP) to serve the market. The Ariaria International Market is one of the most important markets in Nigeria. But its occupants are held back by a dysfunctional electricity situation. Consequently, a large number of shops across the market are powered by generators. The primary uses of electricity in the market are lighting and cooling. With adequate power supply traders will be able to enjoy reduced operating costs (with attendant impact on profits), and will be able to sell perishable goods. The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) visited the Market to carry out a baseline study and survey, as well as an Energy Audit, to collect the data necessary to determine the feasibility of this project. For the Energy Audit, a total of 31,993 unique shops were identified in the market. Data was obtained from 26,750 of those shops. 8,150 shops of the 26,750 shops (i.e. 30.4%) surveyed are currently using electricity; the remaining 70% are not using any power at all. The power requirements of the that 30% of the market currently using electricity were shown to be 2.06MW; 46.6% of that is required for lighting and another 41.7% for cooling. The energy audit determined that in order to power the entire market area, i.e. both the shops currently using electricity and the ones not using electricity, a plant size of about 6.6MW would be required. Based on this, the REA’s proposal is to install, in a first-phase intervention, a 5MW Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Power Plant to meet the market’s current and forecast demand. Construction has commenced on this plant. Meanwhile, a pilot project involving the supply of electricity to parts of the market using a containerized CNG generator kicked off in 2017. 14. Read the State House Press Release following a visit by southeast Leaders and Stakeholders to President Buhari at the State. With these mentions, one would reckon that this Administration is running an inclusive governance like we never experienced since the commencement of Nigerian Democracy.

We the entire members of lamidi cownu's followers refuse to agree with this even though we are seeing it clearly. We will only agree when the ohamadick lamidi cownu, the chief pornster, tell us. So for now, Buhari and Osinbajo can go to blazes for all we care. |

The sad thing is how the South East had allowed itself to be so brainwashed by a riffraff like Nnamdi Kanu. That still baffles me

If only these guys will use half the time and energy they allocate to doing useless propaganda, things would have been better in Nigeria. You sit down in Abuja to conjure up fictional list and still try to force it down our throats is an exercise in futility. AIIA Enugu has remained closed indefinitely! Enugu/P.H expressway is in terrible condition as well as several others in the SE! What about appointments? SE was totally sidelined even in appointments they are constitutionally entitled to! When it involves other regions, we will see pictures and videos of real site projects being worked but when it comes to the SE you start seeing a long list of concorted projects. The most annoying thing is how arrogant they are while doing it as if they are doing Igbos a favour. RUBBISH! |

TheRareGem1:Even the pictures you posted are misleading. The rail-lines you posted are located where exactly? Which section/area is that? That refinery picture you posted is from where exactly? You even posted a computer generated image of Enyimba trade zone. Does it mean there is nothing on ground to show so you have to generate one? You can only fool gullible people with your phantom projects. |
