His tackle was like auba red against palace
Don't blame the boy blame those who missed chances in the first half
I’m not being hard on him but saying the Red isn’t his fault is what I don’t understand.

We started well, but got undone with Nketiah's reckless challenge. I know the boy was just being passionate so he won't be getting knocks fron me for that.

1. I don't know if this is possible at age 31 for a professional footballer, but Auba needs to work on his ball control abilities. He has the speed, skill and drive to go toe-to-toe with most world class strikers, he just needs to work on that ball control. While we were under pressure and the ball was getting ballooned in the air, there were few instances Auba just needed to contest and win the ball in midfield and pass it on to oncoming players so we can either recycle possession or start an attack, but he just can't win any of those balls. I know he is heads and heels above Giroud when it comes to goal scoring ability, but Giroud would win those balls and have the game settled.

2. Arteta should learn to make the right substitutions. Willock was a wrong sub that shouldn't have happened. He posed little attacking threats and was practically a defensive liability towards the end of the match. Pepe coming in at that time would've been a better option because he will prevent the Leicester left back busy and prevent him from joining attack.

3. Nketiah needs to learn how to keep his head high. He shouldn't allow his spirit to dampen with the red card. Just keep.his head up when going into a challenge.

4. Martinez is really showing he can display Leno any day Leno decides to turn out woeful performance. I think this is good for the team.

5. No current Arsenal player brings what Saka brings to the team. The young talent is a gem that needs to be treasured and not over-used. I fear for Martinelli with the way Saka is owning both sides of the wings any day he's called upon. I hope the young Brazilian's development will not be restricted to cup games alone.

All in all, it was a nice game which we didn't win because we were unlucky. I hope Arteta can fully get it right next season having more quality additions to the team.
I laughter cheesy,r see how you're packaging bad ball control from a professional footballer in his 30s, His ability and everything footwork on the ball is next to poor, it hurts and turns my belly, buh I'm afraid I'll be tagged.
I fail to see why Arterta and the previous mangers can't see he is CF, Even his blood brother attested to this, just give it to his feet or space and he'll score 50. Play to his strength for God sake.

The entire attack from the left is damn dull and far from what a team looking for UCL football to look like.A proper LW threatening from that flank could have pinned them backm

Again take Saka out and there'll be Zero creativity in this team, and we'll have to rely on cut backs and cross from full backs like in the Emery days.

Why didn’t Willock pass to Xhaka there?
He didnt all because brother Xhaka stood there without giving him an option to pass the ball, imagine Ramsey there I'm sure he gonna shout on top his voice at Willock to pass him the ball or position himself to be available for pass but bro Granit did the opposite...

My brother, e be like say you no know who Willock be ba? Willock is as stubborn as they come, he would not pass that ball even if it was Ronaldo/ Messi there, worth more Ramsey.

He does what is in his mind and you just have to hope it is the right decision. Pesin wen go lose ball come dey form big man with him jogging? I don't want to spoil my mood this night especially after a scintillating performance from Milan.

It was his fault.

He was too desperate to get that ball, went in at all cost.

I understand the opportunity he saw there that got him desperate. But then it’s his fault.
I wouldnt blame the kid. It was almost a 50-50 ball and a part collision. It took VAR time to make a decision, which for me was wrong. A yellow could have suffice them, but ho, Leicester is VAR baby. Vardy made a worse tackle at Mustafi but went away with it, why kill a fly with a sledge hammer. When VAR couldn't conclude the mumu ref could have let it pass, but like all English refs who have beef with us, he wanted to make good use of an opportunity to make his poor self popular. I won't mention his name, he is useless.

1. It's called hold up play. That's one major area we will miss Giroud, cos even Lacazette can't do it as good as he does it. A good hold-up striker allows those around him to fluorish with his ball winning and control, and ability to hassle defenders and win arial balls. When I say we miss Giroud (and was attacked for it), this was exactly what I meant. Now Chelsea are enjoying what we had. For him to play every match at the world cup for France to win it despite not scoring is a testament to what he contributes to the team.

5. Your fear for Martinelli is justified. Even Pepe would be looking at the kid with one eye, begging. Saka is becoming a phenomenon, he will drive competition accross the forward line. Martinelli can gain inspiration from him too.

The ref made the right call. It was a deserved red card from a reckless play there. Immediately the tackle was shown on replay the first time I already saw a red card coming Nketiah's way. You don't let you boot flying up like that in a football match; that's not monkey post street football na.

The only doubt to the decision which would've made it yellow card was if the tackle had missed the player; obviously that was not the case.

If refs start letting tackles like that slide, Arsenal would probably lose the bright lights in our team like Auba, Saka, Tierney, etc to injury before half of the season sef.

Unfortunately we cannot afford the luxury France enjoys. France can afford to start a striker who would register 0 short on target at the world cup for the sake of link-up play with other quality players in the team like Griezman and Mbappe upfront, Paul Pogba doing split in the middle passes, Blaise Matuidi doing the dirty work in the middle of the park, dem Parvard holding it back and decent full backs getting the attack started.....Arsenal can't afford this luxury.

If this present Arsenal should have a Giroud upfront, we will be registering maybe 1 goal every 3 games sef. His watch is over bro

I think the problem is the coaches get deceived by Auba's speed so they believe he can play that LW. The fact that he scores despite playing that side of the attack makes it even worse. They try to kill two birds with one stone.

Also, due to Auba's poor ball control most times he gets easily isolated when playing CF until he drifts to the right or left to get the ball

Are you undermining Giroud's contribution to France's success? You just complained of lack of holdup play. How did you think Sanchez thrived at Arsenal? if we still had Giroud instead of probably our attack would defend more and Auba would have more space to score more just as Griezmann and Mbappe did playing both sides of Giroud.

His watch isn't over yet, he is still doing it at Chelsea and probably gets better praise there. Arsenal fans should learn to appreciate their own first.

You are missing the point. Giroud's goal drought at the world cup is only being waved away because quality players like Griezman ( he scored 4), Mbappe ( He scored 4 also), Pogba etc scored when Giroud wasn't.

Now take away Auba from current Arsenal team and replace him with Giroud the hold-up play master and see if Ceballos, Nketiah and Pepe will be scoring like dem Giroud's team mates in the Les Blues were doing while Giroud concentrate on his hold-up play striking role lipsrsealed

I already said we can't afford that luxury anymore. We need a striker scoring like Auba does and maybe if he comes with a little bit of hold-up play then perfect! But saying we miss Giroud because of hold-up play? I don't agree with that abeg.

Maybe "deceived" was not the right word I set out go use there, but the message I was trying to pass is simple; his visible speed influences coaches' decision to play him at that LW which obviously means playing him out of position.

No. I am not comparing Auba and OG. Haba! Bros.

I am saying that quick players playing besides Giroud will score lots of goals because of his quality holdup play. He won't score but will create spaces for those besides him to. That's the job Lacazette has that he is not doing well enough. That's why Arteta has to hope on Nketiah.

Giroud was the reason Griezmann and Mbappe could score as much goals in the WC. And Deschamps acknowledged it by giving him playing time despite him not scoring himself.

Nketiah’s deserves a RED. Vardy’s didn’t look deliberate. The main tackle had been done, they were both falling he rolled and hit him in the face, he was even backing Mustafi when it happened.

Dangerous? yes, deliberate? No.

Intent also counts while judging infractions.
