THE MATTHEW 6:33 OF MARRIAGE 101 BIBLE

Hello fellow Nairalanders,

It’s a common saying that he who fails to plan, plans to fail. If you hope or plan to get married someday, it’s important for you to first love God because He is the author and creator of the marriage institution you intend to go into and NO ONE can succeed in marriage without Him. The GENUINE love of God in your heart will radiate outwards to your prospective spouse and help you find a spouse who genuinely loves God and you, not your money and possessions. Anyone who loves you just for your money, possessions and achievements does not genuinely love you and can never be a good spouse.

When you and your spouse love God and each other genuinely, it results in love, unity, sincerity and transparency, which are key success factors in any marriage.

When you and your spouse love God and each other genuinely, you are able to surmount the seemingly insurmountable, put the enemies to flight and achieve great things (MONEY, POSSESSIONS, ETC).

FRIENDS, you need the LOVE OF GOD operating in your midst to have a wonderful home/marriage that can be referred to as a HEAVEN ON EARTH! This is indeed ACHIEVABLE as many can attest.

See you at the top!

…MARRIAGE 101

NOTE - Comments and questions are very much welcome.

Matthew 6 vs 33 says nothing of what you have here though.

Matthew 6 vs 25-34 (ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
25. “So I tell you, don’t worry about the things you need to live—what you will eat, drink, or wear. Life is more important than food, and the body is more important than what you put on it.
26. Look at the birds. They don’t plant, harvest, or save food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. Don’t you know you are worth much more than they are?
27. You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it.
28. “And why do you worry about clothes? Look at the wildflowers in the field. See how they grow. They don’t work or make clothes for themselves.
29. But I tell you that even Solomon, the great and rich king, was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers.
30. If God makes what grows in the field so beautiful, what do you think he will do for you? It’s just grass—one day it’s alive, and the next day someone throws it into a fire. But God cares enough to make it beautiful. Surely he will do much more for you. Your faith is so small!
31. “Don’t worry and say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’
32. That’s what those people who don’t know God are always thinking about. Don’t worry, because your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things.
33. What you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what he wants you to do. Then he will give you all these other things you need.
34. So don’t worry about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Tomorrow will have its own worries.
Instead, the message according to Jesus is this, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you... don’t worry about tomorrow(or who you will marry) . Each day has enough trouble of its own. Tomorrow will have its own worries".

You didn't understand the quote that I attached up there.

Matthew 6:33 says seek ye first the kingdom of God as a lot of us know. I never said the Quote above was Matthew 6:33 but it was a comparison to Matthew 6:33, that anyone who desires a successful marriage must seek to love God first and then his/her spouse, hence, all other good things that come with marriage - money, possessions, achievements, etc will be added unto them.

I hope you understand the analogy/logic in the quote above. Thanks for the comment/observation.

I quite understand the analogy and logic in your previous quote, as well as in the above as well. What I don't understand is why you feel it is ok to make such an analogy knowing it creates a meaning different from that which Jesus Christ specified, hence creating a doctrine, different from the one taught by Jesus Christ, who is meant to be our one and only teacher in all thing.
Matthew 23 vs 8-12
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers.[c]
9. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.
10. Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ.
11. The greatest among you shall be your servant.
12. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
While what you typed might seem quite innocent, and to the average mind it does seem so, however, it is in fact a very dangerous thing to do - something that Jesus Christ warned His followers never to do.
Mark 7 vs 1-13 (ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Now when the Pharisees gathered to him, with some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem,
2. they saw that some of his disciples ate with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed.
3. (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands properly,[a] holding to the tradition of the elders,
4. and when they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions that they observe, such as the washing of cups and pots and copper vessels and dining couches.[c])
[b] 5.
And the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with defiled hands?”
6. And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,
“‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;

7. in vain do they worship me,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

8. You leave the commandment of God and hold to the (doctrines and rules)** tradition of men.”
9. And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!
10. For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’
11. But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)[d]—
12. then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother,
13. thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

Friends and brethren,

God and Love is paramount in having successful marriages.

The bible also says repeatedly that God is Love - 1 John 4:7-21. Where there is genuine love but no money, couples will bind together, pray, see possibilities and overcome at the end but where there is money but no genuine love, crisis will thrive and the marriage may hit the rocks. LOVE BINDS EVERYONE TOGETHER but MONEY DOES NOT.
