Nigerian government will disappoint you bro. They will find one excuse give you and the election will hold. They dont really care about us

In retrospect, I've never seen where a mallam appointed as education minister had made any meaningful contribution to the sector. No be we wey value education? They don't give a damn. A yoruba or igbo man as education minister wouldn't have taken such a worrisome decision. Education is our heritage and legacy people. In like-manner, they must also postpone edo and ondo elections as someone has rightly posited earlier

*Food For Thought*

*1,590,173 sat for WAEC in 2019. In 2020, it will probably be something around that figure.*

*These boys and girls will not write WAEC this year (2020) because of COVID.*

*Edo State has 2,210,534 registered voters, while Ondo State has 1,822,346. Combined, both States have 4,032,880 Registered Voters.*

*Elections will hold in both States this same year (2020) in spite of COVID.*

*Examination arrangements can be better optimized to enforce safety necessities; it will take ten times the effort to keep a polling unit orderly and safe.*

*A country's future can be deduced from how its leaders set priorities.*

When you had the chance to vote credible people, y'all didn't but toed the line if religion and tribalism, now we are all lamenting

I doubt, the government won't. The elections are for adults and not for children. It is believed that adults can keep effective social distance and protect themselves, while children may not be able to.

We can't wait for ever,
The government have to put strict laws in place on the use of face mask in Lagos , Ogun and any other high affected states. Strict precautionary measures is what is needed to curb an untreatable pandemic until a cure is found.
Lagos people don't care anymore.

All these O levels examinations are no longer credible in recent times. So much malpractice goes on, yet they just want to keep conducting them year in year out without any quality assurance. My suggestion is to allow universities run A - level or pre-degree programmes for one year for students who will miss out on O-levels exams, to enable them gain Nigerian tertiary institutions admissions. We can always conduct NECO at our convenience when the current public health situation improves. When the effect of the pandemic is adjudged less critical, students who are still interested can register for WAEC at their convenience any other year.
What are you saying??
Olevel is not credible and you are suggesting Neco. Hmm

We expected that after interstate lockdown is removed, COVID-19 cases will explode. But what we have seen so far is that the number of cases has reduced. Subjecting people to suffering because of COVID-19 is no longer justifiable.

After Six or five years of teaching kids outdated curriculum, they still stress them to enter university to learn from unproductive lecturers that will roll out unproductive unemployable graduates.

Have lot hope in our educational system completely.

Nothing short of a total overhaul will salvage Nigeria.

Nigeria failed when our educational system failed and became unproductive.

oh thanks. But UK plans full reopening by September and before the rebound, US also planned reopening in the fall. I'm aware some states already cancelled their academic year. Our own handling while it definitely calls for concern it also raises questions sad. Unfortunately Nigerians on social media aren't going to listen grin. To them it's just reopen this reopen that grin

@smartprof malpractice is whose fault waec?. Malpractice has eaten deep into Nigeria educational system from primary to the tertiary level. Even if the host of heavens were to conduct exams in Nigerian students will still find a way to cheat. I think it is high time government looks into this rising menace before it gets out of hand.
