Nice initiative no doubt but this has been in play for decades naaa. By now their should be a playbook these artisans can reference without an elaborate approach by the government agencies postbox: |

ForeThinker: Nice graph there.... Need to add intercalation of spreadsheets with 6sigma apps whilst balancing with EQ/AQ/IQ modelling on juxtaposed research-development needs vis-à-vis wellbeing growth as a ratio of operational growth!!!! Sitting just before complex numbers at a high level managerial role life stage. . 1 Like 1 Share |

I think it's a great initiative from the Ministry of Agriculture Lagos chapter and the state govt. We can't train a thousand at once but can do so gradually with proper planning and a conducive environment for startups. I do feel other state govt needs to look at this and also source out things that would generate employment for Thier people. |

Good initiative. They should be taught how to produce coconut milk and clean coconut oil/cream too. That can lead to the establishment of small scale factories which will employ more people and add more value to lives. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I love this spirit and expanded use of coconut because every part will be useful. My only fear is if enough of the trees will be replaced and even increase in number by nursery cultivation. delpee: |

lonelydora: You can bash Abia State on different fronts, but when it comes to craftsmanship, Abia State can compete with any State in Nigeria. Not too long ago, Abia State government sent some of its citizens to China to learn the art of mechanizing the shoe production and followed it up with the purchase of the pertinent pieces of machine. when it comes to hardwork and high activity level, you can't look past Abia State. |

Nice initiative to hone skills and creativity. Can the Waste To Wealth initiative also be scaled up and scaled out? Scaling up: chipped coconut shells can be exported in bulk as landscape mulch. Not the highest value item, but doesn't require much effort to produce, and can bring in foreign money for a waste product. Scaling out: Can the Waste To Wealth initiative be expanded to deal with waste plastics? If a use were found for waste plastics, that would reduce rubbish in the streets and creeks, reduce flooding caused by plastic-blocked drainages, and provide employment in collecting, sorting, and re-manufacturing of something that is at the moment just a noxious nuisance. |

This is a good initiative by the Lagos state Government. I hope to see more of this. Since after the pandemic began it has become clear that we need to all follow the path of entrepreneurship . We need more support in the agric sector. More entrepreneurs because that sector is so important to the economy. I am verY happy to know that FCMB is doing something about this. They have been working on developing Nigeria agricultural sector through so many initiatives. I even read about that till date they have purchased about 600 plus tractors, supported about 25,000 farmers, and over 30,000 tons of grains produced to date. I read about this online you can check out this page to see more https://www.fcmb.com/driving-inclusion/assets/download/Agriculture_Downloadable.pdf
