We have all rebar bent, tied (stirrups @250mm c/c) and placed.

Next, we lay three (3) courses of blocks on the Lintel to bring our building to decking level

Decking form work has commenced
We hope to achieve this in 4 days so our rebar works can commence.
All materials have been made available so we can move with great speed and accuracy of course

I know someone building a four bedroom duplex right now with same description as this, except he doesn't have an ante room but, has spent almost =N=5m according to him though, his building is longer.

How can one estimate the Quantity of iron bars for decking?

The size of your deck will determine the quantity of rebars
While the load coming on the deck will determine the size and number of rebars for the beams.
All these have been predesigned and shown with the bending schedule on your structural drawings
Let a qualified engineer interprete your structural drawings for you and calculate the quantity of the various sizes of rebar and their correct positioning on your deck.
Except you are a civil/structural Engr decking reinforcements is not a DIY affair

Water in the right quantity as an integral component of concrete is as important as the cement used.
No matter how tightly placed your wooden form work is, water will still leak through the joints. The wood itself has a high capacity to soak water.
These will reduce the amount of water available for the complete hydration of the cement in the concrete mix
The nylon we use as DPM serves two purposes namely:
1. Retains water in the concrete mix to ensure complete hydration of cement and proper non-brittle hardening
2. Helps preserve the wooden form work for future use since soaked wood will loose its strength as a result of water-induced fermentation.
