Should I Withdraw From Nigeria University And Study Abroad? by Nobody: 5:49am On Jul 14, 2020
Good day everyone I've been busy on this section trying to find opinion of experts here.

I'm 200 level students in Nigeria and I was given the course I don't even want,my family and I are discussing whether I should study abroad or not.

I'm really confused because if I've to leave nigeria, I'll first of all withdraw from the school here before writing another exam to study.

I need your opinions please

If your family can afford it, you are going there to study a professional course, has the mental capacity to resist the pressure & temptations of that comes with it, I will advise you to go for it..

If you can leave, leave. Nigeria's educational system is dead.

Are you thinking? Thinking about what, when you have the means? There are some things you should not be thinking about...

There are online courses from reputable universities that you can take after which you can go for your masters. This I believe is cheaper but you can also go for the in-person option. Generally, I believe finishing your current degree will not be a waste except if you feel what you are currently studying is a far cry from what you want else you can always further and specialise in what you want.

My question
I advised him to flee this shithole but on the other side if he wants to further his education abroad he will need to tender some certificate how will he now go about that

The cert that will be needed would be certs like waec ,neco, secondary school cert maybe primary school.
If the means is available go for it and come to think of it Nigeria edu systems is slow it might be that u will graduate with ur mate at the same time and look out for scholarship too.

Please can you stop referring to your country with derogatory terms? It does not speak well of you.
He can always scan and send his certificates to the school.

It's obvious the only relevant certificate he has is his SSCE. At 200L, the best he can get is a transcript else he will have to start over again.

It is very easy , apply to any good university abroad with your O level and 200level transcript. They might deduct some course for you.
Good luck
Move out of this country ASAP once border is open

The truth is after the pandemic I would be moving to 400lvl/500lvl. Buh right now I'm going to leave it for U.K
@OP it's a good decision if you can withdraw from Nigeria and move to good country for your education.
If your family can afford it.
Right now your best bet is USA(You would get some sort of scholarships that will ease the burden on your parent)
thank you for your input, nigeria education system is going down daily and it seems there's no bright future ahead in this country.

Isn't Trump hunting down immigrants? Won't it affect me?
