Nigeria is the only country where Politicians turn billionaires overnight.
Nigeria is the only country that graduates & Phd holders are paupers.

I can imagine many graduates are worse off than their serving counterparts. Many private employers don't pay up to N30k/month, and even at that, the salaries aren't paid on schedule.

Short sightedness. If this lady was a guy, I would have called her a m-o-r-o-n.

It seems people don't know real essence of this NYSC, to serve your father's land? Laughs! When as an undergraduate, you have parents (talking about average Nigerian parents who manage to send N10, 000 per month) who send you something weekly or monthly, but what they send to you is never enough but you still try to sort yourself (not sorting yourself by resorting to something crude, sorting yourself either by managing the meager amount or hustle to add to it), and you hope that when you are done with first degree, things will change for good. You hope that you either get a good paying job or if you have inclination to become an entrepreneur, you then start your own business.

Now, it is time you serve your father's land as they call it, you have the opportunity to collect a fixed amount for 11 or 12 good months doing something that some will do and collect one-third of what you are being paid. You now think you have your financial freedom, you could buy that smartphone you were not able to buy while in school, you could bring out your real fashion sense, you too could shop at mall now.

You don't know that this salary is paid to you to test one potential in you. You don't know that this service year is like a middle ground between you moving forward in life or returning to your undergraduate status. Service year is meant to break or make you. What you do with it has great influence in what you will become when you are finally done.

You have constant cash inflow every month, for a solid one year. What happens to you thinking about writing some international exams if you are a type that wish to further outside? What about getting loans and start that business even at that your unfamiliar location if you are a business inclined type? What about acquiring even more skills at your free time if you love rendering services to people? Above all, what about you saving little amount monthly so that it could hold you for few weeks after your service while you try to figure out your next move?

Now, it is your POP day, your certificate is given to you, you want to rejoice and take pictures with friends. You want to flaunt your certificate on your social media accounts. Have you ever asked yourself this question before your POP, "what next?" To me, I don't see why we should joy over passing out without anything to fall on. Well, few category can still show their excitement for passing out

1. Those who have rich parents
2. Those who have something rolling already for them
3. Those who are certain to get something to do and earn good sum.

If you are a type that will only return to your parents house after service and have nothing to do, I guess this lady set pace for you already, you should weep the way she weeps, knowing what you are going back to face at home.

How dare me giving this advice when I'm still an undergraduate and I don't even know how it feels at the other side.
