I am 19 years old and I want to finally start a career as a gamer based on what my friends on my gaming forum said (irc channel). I have been a leisure gamer for a long time. I have interacted with so many gamers like me on irc. gaming is my passion. After God is gaming. My gamer friends earn up to 5k per month streaming games on YouTube.

My cousin who lives abroad sent me his upgraded Asus Nvidia gpu gaming laptop with 2 terabyte ssd and 16gig Ram, i7 9th gen laptop to replace the old ps2 my dad seized because I failed Jamb.

I want to move out of my father's house and focus on this career. I have been able to get some money from my cousin and some savings. I will like to move into a good apartment in a place with 24/7 light, buy two good sized monitors and a laptop stand and a good seat. I will buy a camera and microphone with a tripod and some lighting for video streaming.

I heard Bonny Island has this 24/7 light. Please how true is this? I need info from people living there. How much is rent for a good apartment with enough space to set up my studio like in the picture below but with bigger screen. Please no silly advice. I have already decided on this.

I am just concerned about why u would want a career in something that pays 5 k a month. And u even want to move all the way to Bonny island where u have no family or friend. Assuming u didn't make any income in the first 3 months, can u support urself? I'm really concerned.

Uhmm you know most of the gamers that make money via streams on YouTube earn mostly by the amount of people streaming their content, you also don't get that 5k USD steadily every month - forgotten how it's calculated and it takes time to start getting in those subscribers and popularity on yt and other streaming platforms as you'll mostly have competitors, fellow YouTubers do you have enough financial capability to keep your self going till you'll be able to get to that point where you don't need to be worried about getting so much views on the streaming platform. Welp your choice but don't just focus on streaming game content, there's a lot more you can learn I.e game development, beta testers, and the rest

there's no point in not trying. if you have the means. like 3-4million will settle all you have written up there.

don't let anybody distract you from your passion since you intend to monetize it. the owner of this forum built it when he was in his early twenties same as Facebook. before they went on to monetize it.

You can enjoy 24 hrs light anywhere in Nigeria.Simply install a solar inverter.1.5m will do a good set up for you.Bonny is an expensive place o.

Unfortunately I have no idea about Bonny Island but will suggest you get an inverter installed like someone up advised. You will be better off having affordable accommodation and using solar PV and inverter and Lithium ion batteries (except you are insistent on Bonny Island).

Let me also say that I don't know you but people like you are the ones who go on to change society positively. If that's your passion, please give it your all and stay on it.

24/7 electricity you ask ? I can tell you gazillion places and ways to get 24/7 electricity and they all require you to pay for it.

First EARN your 5k USD where you are then think of moving out and being a man. Your Dad would respect you then

Google can actually answer these 3 questions for u since u have everything set up. Do a search on apartments for rent and u will have a fair idea of what is obtainable in Bonny. And yes, theres 24/7 light. Shalom

This country sef.. I heard spectranet and MTN are good. However, I won't reject any better suggestions. I was thinking of using ntel for the unlimited data but that can only be if it is fast since I will be dealing with 4k videos. I have the equipment for editing 4k vids and playing the games which I think is the important part. As for uploading videos. I can wait for it to load as far as there is enough light. If it takes one week to complete no probs.

Have you checked to see if these service providers are available at Bonny?

Yes, Bonny has constant electricity. Should you decide to move to Bonny, stay in Finima.

I must warn that accomodation and cost of living is expensive.
