Good day ma'am. So we saw a doctor on Tue and he said its not something to worry about as it will resolve on its own. He asked if I'm o FTM and I got that look of 'no wonder' when I said yes.

Thanks so much ma'am,I got that same question and look from a doctor 2weeks ago after spending 10k on lab and consultation at the hospital over an issue I could have overlook.May God help we special first time mum. grin grin Send my love to your LO.

I was told to use chloroxidine gel (hope I spelt correctly) for the cord to fall off. It didn't but I eventually used moko spirit and within 5 days, it fell off. Now I'm still using the moko spirit for it to heal completely. You can ask to see another doctor in the hospital and explain your worries.

Hello vigilante Mamas, my LO is a month old but strains n grunts each tym he sleeps, dis gives me so much concern. Dnt knw wat to do? Anyone wit d same exp?
Secondly what kind of food can I eat to boost my breastmilk supply? Tnks for prompt response.

It’s called colic,
Though, the cause is not yet known and there is no physical sign to show that it is abnormal. It is thought that it is caused by contraction of the stomach as trapped wind enters the intestine. Acid reflux is suspected to be another cause.

However, healthcare professionals say that you should aim to stop wind entering the intestine; that would be the way you feed baby; propping up the bottle while baby is lying down, for example, is not ideal. Baby could suck in air if there is an opening in the teat of the bottle. Prop baby up when she is feeding. If you bottle-feed use a teat designed to prevent swallowing of air. With a regular teat, feel the teat as to allow no air to be trapped in.

For those that are definitely experiencing same, you’d find this article liberating: https://guardian.ng/guardian-woman/when-your-baby-has-colic/

Hello beautiful mama's. May God answer all our prayers. I created a group for those who have fibroids or those who had sugery and won't want a regrowth. Let's work as a team and live a healthy life. God will see us through.

There is. Just Vitamin A. They said Vitamin A is given every 6months. But there's no 12months schedule instead 15months. Calculating 6months after is 21months(1yr 9months) So maybe that's what the center is adopting. Though mine just gave at 6, 15, 18, 24months.

Hello mamas, please help chook month. My baby stretches and grunts a lots these days and my MIL said its navel things that we should get Gripe Water for her. I asked a matron and she said she can't use it that we should get Nospamin. I got the nosman and it doesn't seem to be working as the stretches and grunting continues so MIL is still saying we get the gripe water. She said even a day baby can use it that who gave me wrong information. Please what do you have to say on this. Thank you.

Pls don't use gripe water mama am concerned about the tiny amount of alcohol in it. Also nospamin is a no no it has been banned for use in babies i think . In my case i was heating the navel with cloth and lantern. I got inu ìwọ things from alagbo tied it in a cloth and was using it heat the navel. I am skeptical about things that goes into a babies mouth. Would rather use herbs on the outside.

My 2 cents ni ó

Well I used gripe water "woodward's" brand. Their stretches and grunting are usually because of various things. Mostly tummy aches from trapped air, overfeeding; they might just want to pacify themselves to sleep and still keep suckling even when full, hence overfeeding. Also they do that when they want to poop or fart; they haven't figured out the right muscles to contract to enable them poop/fart, hence the grunting and stretching to find a way to poop. Notice how when they finally poop, they settle down?

When lo cries, place tummy on ur shoulder, apply little pressure while pating the back to expel any trapped air. If my LO continues crying after trying all I can to expel air and pacify(even if I put to breast, LO still cry) I give the gripe water (little, no more than 2.5ml) and the settle down quickly afterwards and sleep.

Nothing unusual or bad has happened. So this is my experience.

My mum used it for my son as that was what the hospital recommend and gave us. His stump fell off on Day 6 and we discontinued. Instead, she used original blue seal Vaseline on the navel area until it healed.
