The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio has linked contracts awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, to members of the National Assembly, saying that majority of the contracts awarded were handled by the lawmakers.

He made the disclosure while answering questions at the ongoing probe by the House of Representatives committee.

According to Akpabio: “Most of the contracts at NDDC are handled by members of the National Assembly.”

The House of Representatives is currently investigating NDDC over alleged fraud, mismanagement of funds, among others.

When you think you know so much, Akpabio, like Buhari is telling us that he once benefitted from the corrupt system.
Re: Akpabio: 60% Of NDDC Contracts Are Awarded to National Assembly Members by Nobody:
When we screamed about Akpabio's N108.1bn loot from Akwaibom treasury, they called us wailers while EFCC swept that aswell under the carpet like it did Alpha-Beta petition while raising the broom.

Akpabio and NDDC MD have successfully blackmailed NASS.

The probe will be swept under the carpet.

RIP to corruption fight in Nigeria.
Re: Akpabio: 60% Of NDDC Contracts Are Awarded to National Assembly Members by omenka(m):
They're all partnering thieves in progress.

They should spare us this charade. We all know absolutely nothing tangible will result from it, except perhaps the fact that billions have been stolen. No one would lose their job neither will anyone for go jail.

Power sector probe which was the mother of all national assembly investigations, and that of petroleum industry revealed mind shattering incidences of corruption, but to this day, not even an ant has worn a green jumpsuit as a result!!

The country stinks from top to bottom.

Akpabio is just dancing around the main issue which is to offer explanations over his role in the alleged misuse of the sum of N81.5 billion by the Niger Delta Development commission (NDDC).

Don't be surprised if he survive it. He was accused of looting billions of naira as governor of Akwa ibom but EFCC looked the way when he joined APC and Buhari still went ahead to make him a minister.

And the NASS will very much likely give him soft landing cos he may start singing if they insisted on probing him.

Coupled with EFCC/Magu's corruption case NASS will want to avoid another scandal involving members and remember Gbajabiamila just said NDDC MD won't be questioned by the committee again.

Current government has made a mess of anticorruption fight.

I don't know why Nigerians are surprised by the probe and revelation from NDDC.

NDDC is a case study of Nigeria system.
Re: Akpabio: 60% Of NDDC Contracts Are Awarded to National Assembly Members by techmo(m):
cool

If Gbajabiamila continues with this probe The Presidency and National Assembly may completely collapse, I see Nyemsom Wike in this messy "Entanglement" ,while the whole Niger Delta starts a serious revolution

*Probe Nigerian Army Procurement Office
*Probe TETFUND
*Probe NNPC

Kudos to Akpabio and Festus Keyamo

My major concern in all this is how Akpabio and Joy budgeted billions for Covid 19 palliative when submitting the budget in far back October 2019

This is one of the main problems we have in this country..

If Akpabio is correct... how can the house of rep check mate criminal activities in the NDDC?? They have already chopped contract money from the NDDC.
