In my Msc, hope to kick off PhD next year.

Then I just started my 2nd year of PhD. I'm done with it now however, I am not in the academic space because, research isn't much fun for me.

No, I got funding. The fundamental difference is that for scholarship, you are not expected to work for it however, funding requires some commitment in Teaching/Research Assistant for some hours weekly. It sometimes has some elements of scholarship in it however, this varies from university to university.
