When you visit Akwa Ibom and see the so called roads they are constructing you'll withdraw your statement. The reality is that there are many road projects but most of these are partly done. A few of them are commissioned and even the ones commissioned are 60 to 70 percent complete. That's the trademark for all the projects. It's fool hardy to bite do much than you can chew

People would be blind to what's happening in Akwa Ibom, from Akpabio to Udom. It's all about laying down solid infrastructure in critical sectors of economic development.

This is the same template in Lagos. I'd not be surprised if Akwa Ibom becomes the richest State in Nigeria by 2030. Though Lagos houses biggest tech gurus and professionals on the continent and it's very peaceful.

However, if Akwa Ibom can sustain this mindset, having another gov for 8yrs after Udom, the State would give Lagos a hot chase.

May God forgive the person that posted all these roads that they are constructed by Gov Udom, it is a big lie. Those roads as shown, were constructed by Gov Akpabio. The ones constructed by Akpabio still stand the sands of time, whereas the ones constructed by Udom in his first term is now pot holes, of which, the state house of assembly called him order.

Wow Akwa Ibom Ayaya really proud of my state. Meanwhile government does not built companies or industries, rather they create a condusive environment for business to thrive and that's what Udom is doing. When the seaport commence operation next year and international oil companies relocate to the 21 intelligent building on december, and the coconut plantation/refinery start operation on december, and the Victor Attah new airport terminal which is completely ICT commence operation next year which will place Akwa Ibom on world map with huge Internally Generating Revenue. Then can't imagine how Akwa Ibom will look like. Akwa Ibom will be competing with some west african cities let alone lagos in terms of GDP and IGR.!!

The government should carry everybody all along no man is greater, important than the other.
The government should defend their reasons with convincing facts and not by any other means.
AkwaIbom belongs to all and not to any group of anybody. Udom is on track but must carry along all the divides no matter what.
Justify and challenge every petition writings with concrete, convincing facts and every noise will be silence

I might not like the way Udom is performing in the state in some aspects especially in terms of project delivery especially with regards road constructions, the delivery time is quite long and in some cases the quality of the job is quite low. i give an example, Ring road 2 (between Abak road and Aka road, Eket Re-modelling Project), this is one area the former governor performed very well, most projects that were started were most likely to be completed, there were some he didn't do well too, eg. Tropicana, etc. but are some other aspects Udom is getting very right, e.g. Industrialization especially in an environment where Power is abysmal - PHED is a total failure in Akwa Ibom, they need to be sent packing, without 24 hr electricity and at lease pipe borne water to every home, we can't achieve much. Ibom air too is a good idea to be a tool to boost tourism, Akwa Ibom is a very very clean state, we can take it a notch higher, lets work on our strengths, even though in my opinion, the ministry of tourism and tourism board are just snoozing while historical sites in the state are being lost forever. e.g Amalgamation house in Ikot Abasi while natural sites are being abandoned, they can setup a PPP arrangement to get those sites back in business - its a gold mine. Ibom deep sea port too is a no brainer too but we have to be ready both in terms of infrastructure (rail on my mind) and human capital development, more scholarships need to be awarded and paid to the brightest brains in the state (they are very many) to go study in the Havard, Yale, Oxford, etc. and let them come back to drive the economy. Udom is also trying in the area of ethical re-orientation of the youths, encouraging everyone to get up and stop looking at government officials for handouts- a very bad legacy of past government. The typical Akwa Ibom indigene right from when I was a child is known to be very brilliant and industrious, politics of stomach infrastructure and corruption (a Nationwide malaise) will not take us far. The youths need to quickly key into the Akwa Ibom dream and turn Akwa Ibom into a Singapore or Dubai.

I have read with amusement some comments from people don't know or even share the Akwa Ibom dream who have displayed nothing but HATE and in most cases ENVY and JEALOUSY about the state. This is actually a past time of most nairalanders from my observation , they hate to see and even hear anything good about any state that is not theirs. They never criticize constructively, its always with hate!!! please focus on your state. Akwa Ibom is not in any competitions with anybody, the truth however is that Akwa Ibom is far better than most states in Nigeria but that is not what is important, the state needs to target more world class standards and not engage in local competitions. To my fellow Akwa Ibomites who are not satisfied with the state of things or see pure falsehood, voice them out, hold the leaders accountable, tackle them too both on social media but more importantly right on the ground here in Akwa Ibom but remember one thing while doing it - " Anie Ufok ama okood ufok amo ataha ke essien, mboho eya esin ikang,"

Oil contribute over 11 billion dollars to their gdp ...take that out what do u have ? Less than 2 billion dollars it's that bad

I'm really surprised the way people talk here. Pls I want the people that are saying nothing is going on on ground should tell me any state governor that has been able to deliver a successful airline with even a modern airport been built to back it up, not even the federal government can boost of an airport as modern as the one in awka ibom. How many states in Nigeria can boost of good road infrastructure. And so many more in awka ibom.

The major things needed to develop a place is
1. Peaceful environment
2. Good transport system
3. Stable power supply.
4. Security

Akwa ibom has met these demend apart from electricity which is not their fault. Believe me if the country was restructured for state to have more control of their resources not just awka ibom but most southern states would have stable power supply because the bulk of the electricity is generated from the south. We should give him some credit are you guys not tired of hearing bad news in this country. At least we should celebrate when something good is put in place, and from all indication I have been seeing good things been done in the state. If he had his way he would have built that seaport ever since and done much more.

As for people crying awka ibom receiving the largest allocation from the federal government, if we should be sincere with ourselves the allocations states receive from the FG is too small from the highest to the smallest even if we remove corruption. Or do you guys think Dubai was built with the kind of allocations states are receiving. That's why we should canvassing for massive restructuring in this country to allow the state autonomy to drive their own economic destiny. And more importantly we the citizens need a big change of attitude that is one of the major ways for this country to work.

As for Huchogee and Illaumoh ( I don't know if I got the spelling correct.) U guys are doing a good job whether u are been paid to do it or not. U guys are changing the media narrative of this country, let the world see that progress is going on in Nigeria. U are actually bringing development and investors to the state just by the way u portray it and Believe me u guys are some of the agents of development Nigeria really needs right now. Believe me guys most western countries u see are not all rosy it the way their media present them that makes us think so. Keep up the good work.
