While emphasising the need to put records straight, Sanwo-Olu stated that his Chief of Staff (CoS) would henceforth, deal with Idi­mogu on matters relating to Ndigbo in the state.

Sanwo-Olu said: “My Chief of Staff will deal with Idimogu as the new apex political leader of Ndigbo in Lagos. We have heard of the efforts he has made so far in bringing his people closer to the party. We appreciate his contributions and would relate with him and Ndigbo cordially to make Lagos great for all of us.”

Hon. Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu, representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly has assured south easterners of the presidency after Bola Tinubu’s two-term tenure as president.

Idimogu, who was recently elevated as the Apex Leader of the Ndigbos in Lagos State, made this known in an interview with journalists recently held in Lagos.

He told his fellow Easterners that power is not served to allocate; hence, they must all struggle to achieve it.

“By the time Tinubu is through with his two-term tenure, he would look at how he could support the South East.

“The People of the South-East should know that positions are not just given, they must struggle for it, and that they were not struggling enough.

“Also, South-East should know that they must work in tandem with other tribes, they must collaborate and that is the only way they can get it. Either they work with the South West or the North.

“The leaders of the Yorubas in this state would continue to control the state. The Ibos should fall in line with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in Lagos State and it shall be better for all of us.

All Igbos in Lagos owe allegiance to Ohanaeze Ndigbo and its leadership; while the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State owe allegiance to President General, Chief Nnia Nwodo and the Igbo council of elders in Lagos State. The same applies to every Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership anywhere in the world— their allegiance is to the President General and the Igbo council of elders in their respective localities.

Sanwo-Olu is a credible leader who promises to uplift the downtrodden masses of Lagos state including Ndigbo. We are confident he will keep his words and accommodate Ndigbo in his administration, thereby giving us the needed sense of belonging. I hereby call on all Igbos in Lagos to support the Sanwo-olu/Hamzat administration, so we can derive maximum benefit from our host community as we partake in the dividends of democracy.
