[please don't apply powder on her diaper area and also use sudocream, always apply it before you put a diaper on her and please ensure you and her caregivers wash your hand before changing her diaper, am sure it will clear ofcquote author=Ubiero post=92026868]Good evening sabi mamas,

I was told to use chloroxidine gel (hope I spelt correctly) for the cord to fall off. It didn't but I eventually used moko spirit and within 5 days, it fell off. Now I'm still using the moko spirit for it to heal completely. You can ask to see another doctor in the hospital and explain your worries.
buy penicillin lotion, apply till it's properly heal. I still use it on my son, he is 8 weeks now.

Well I used gripe water "woodward's" brand. Their stretches and grunting are usually because of various things. Mostly tummy aches from trapped air, overfeeding; they might just want to pacify themselves to sleep and still keep suckling even when full, hence overfeeding. Also they do that when they want to poop or fart; they haven't figured out the right muscles to contract to enable them poop/fart, hence the grunting and stretching to find a way to poop. Notice how when they finally poop, they settle down?

When lo cries, place tummy on ur shoulder, apply little pressure while pating the back to expel any trapped air. If my LO continues crying after trying all I can to expel air and pacify(even if I put to breast, LO still cry) I give the gripe water (little, no more than 2.5ml) and the settle down quickly afterwards and sleep.

Nothing unusual or bad has happened. So this is my experience.
that gripe water surely works. It calms my baby and help him sleep.

You can try using cacatin and moju powder. Also, when cleaning her bum, rather than wipes which can cause irritation, use a wet cotton wool.
Hope she gets better soon

Thank you sabi mamas.

I actually bought Sudocream but I wasn't sure if she could use it considering her age.

We're not using any powder but I'll get the baby tribotan later today.

I use Huggies wipes (For sensitive skin) - Most likely I will stop its use for now and see how it goes.

Thank you.

Hello experienced mamas, kindly help a first time mum who doesn’t know left or right in this baby issues.

My baby turned 4 months a few days ago. She has been taking SMA Gold along with breast milk from birth. Recently though, i’ve noticed that she has reduced her intake of formula.

My question is, is it time to change her food? If yes, what else can she take? Kindly recommend.

I’ll also appreciate if any experienced mama can help tell the different food babies can take at different stages, till they’re old enough to start eating our normal food. What can be found on google are majorly oyinbo food.

God bless you in advance.

There are varieties of cereals and porridge for 4 months old. It will be indicated on it. I know of gerber product. You can check baby stores.

However I doubt if her reduction of formula intake is an indication of changing of food. She shouldn't reduce intake rather she should eat more than before demand for more. That, I know is an indication that she needs heavier food. I may be wrong about that opinion tho

I think she prefers more breast milk than formula..that what my baby does too....so give her more of breast milk.

Don't introduce any food for her now since u have already added formula to her menu, maybe by 6 months u can start, is still her time to b having more of breast milk

I don't know much about this, others will share their thoughts but I think if you have used many antibacterial creams without improvement, you may want to check with a doctor. That look itchy. Sorry baby.

Ps: don't forget remove the pics when you get answers.
