This is a screenshot of the popup form. Happens when I use Opera, but can't see it when I use Chrome.

Call Seun , Dominique and his mods to see the screenshot!

I'd you haven't, use the logout(all) feature (click on the "all" not logout) and change your password ASAP. I hope you didn't input the email address you used for the account?

Which device you were using when this happened?

Which page did you open when this happened and does it happen again when you go back to the same page?

Which network were you using to browse Nairaland when this happened?

Without the above information I can't do anything. I urge anyone who experienced this to provide those details.
Experienced same yesterday..twice.

network: MTN

I used an infinix device, tried opening one of the topics on FP. The form popped up for about 3 times while trying to open that particular topic, threatening that my account will be banned if I don't fill it..
I use Airtel network and Operamini browser.
Typical useless transsion devices.
I'm sure it's your phone and not NL

What I have noticed.
Most the complaints from people whom use opera mini and transsion devices

UDUJ:

Exactly. I think it has to do with the browser they use. See all the complaints pointing to the use of the opera browser just shows the security of that browser is compromised. I use Google chrome on my phone, tablet and laptop and I have never experienced such.

Opera was popular wayback the days of java and Symbian.
But anything android if not Chrome the rest are just time wasters with so many annoying ads.

Seun , Nairaland is under attack. Maybe a complex phishing attack. A form pops up when I open a thread demanding I provide my email and password though I'm already logged in. Dominique, Lalasticlala, you may need to take this seriously.

I thought as much!

I was wondering why a pop up was requesting for login details while still logged in.

Make dem no do us twitter things for here o..

It's likely a phishing attack to get details of users. Don't fill the form , guys.

I've filled mine already
Re: Is Nairaland Under Attack? by Nobody: 1:53pm On Jul 27, 2020

I experienced this yesterday too. I used operamini browser at first. when i clicked a topic on frontpage, I was redirected to another page to input some login details. I kept trying different things, it didn't work. I finally switched to chrome and i didn't see the pop-up anymore. I was initially thinking you have upgraded the site or something. So these hackers don reach nairaland

Use a chrome or Safari browser to change your password immediately . Don't let your Nairaland password be the same as that of your email.

Seun, Dominique, Lalasticlala , more people are filling those forms and the bad guys are winning. We complain about Nigerian Government being reactive and not proactive. Do like Twitter , issue a piece of advice at Front page that the glitch or whatever will be fixed immediately and warn Nairaland users not to fill any form which they must fill before gaining access to any thread.
