Hello good morning.

Late April during lockdown, my friend sent me a post, which was advertised by her mom customer in need of an accountant urgently, the job was for graduate and I'm an undergraduate, final year thou I should have graduated since 2018 but left school in my first semester 400l due to mental health issues I was facing which no one know( I can't read and comprehend as I used to anymore) got bored of reading and preparing for exams, set eyes on making money. Just too broke at that time.

I applied for the job with fate, and I was called, went for interview thrice before I was given the job. due to my experience of working as an assistant accountant in one big hotel and working as branch manager in another hotel, and not staying far I was given the job. The pay range was 35k based on my qualifications thou.

I started work first week of May, not too stressful but I'm to resume by 6am and close 6pm, daily allowance 2k and my salary ... I do make 50-60k weekly aside my daily allowance and salary.

Reason I'm thinking about quitting is, early June, on my way to work on bike, I had an accident with Keke, which the Keke man was clearly at fault for swerving without checking his side mirror, but then again, it was just the two of us (bike man and Keke man) on the road, same lane, nothing coming back or front of us, yet the accident.

I had a bruise on my hand and a kinda deep wound an inch from my ankle bone. (which haven't gone yet, used original honey to bring out the surface, thou I no longer feel pains, recently it has dried up).

During that accident period nor of my colleagues/bosses came to visit me as I was home for a week. But my colleagues kept sending my own share from the runs money.

Last Thursday on my way to work, very close to my work place, walking on the street that lead to my office and one man I don't know, was inside his shop/house, saying to me, oboy this your leg never go, na wa oh, them wan just spoil ur leg for you, that your place wey u dey work many don run commot there cause of the juju things wey them dey use follow their workers, better dey pray every day and when u enter office guy. I said thank you sire, while getting to the office tears dropped from my eyes as I prayed.

Next day being Friday on my way home, the bike I took we both fell down, falling to where my wound is, I had to be smart and quickly dodge the bike from landing on that leg... I paid the bike man and trekked to the bustop to get Keke.

This job has really changed me from that sad dude to happy dude, due to financial capability right now... I'm now free of debt and brokenness.

Please advise me, cause I'm not really a spiritual person but all these are making me prayerful (never believed in juju and attack before).

there is nothing to be afraid of except your conscience!
There is no body after you. However, your conscience is judging you! How can you be stealing 50-60k from your employer per week!

The way people reason in this country can be very backwards. Because one "traditionalist" somewhere is attributing your transport mishaps to one voodoo in your place of work, you then want to quit??

If it has never happened to you, you won't believe it. Voodoo and traditionalists are all real and the guy should be weary

Stop self medication. Go to the hospital and treat your wound properly. Accident happens and your slow healing wound has nothing to do with ‘juju’. Seek help and carry on with your job.

If there’s anything sinister or suspicious about your job and workplace, it’s the runs that fetches you N50k-N60k weekly. That you need to be careful about.

Avoid the paranoid ignorant old man who scares you and attempts to make you see things that are not there.

BarristerAlarig:
THE STORY OF A NIGERIAN MANUFACTURER

I run a manufacturing business and a trading business.
The biggest challenge in my manufacturing business is not power, or infrastructure, the biggest challenge is getting honest staff. Everyone we hire is appears to be on a mission to steal as much as possible. Inflated invoices, recording less than the actual number of units produced. The worst part of it all is that all the fraud we've uncovered is not done by a single person, it's usually many staff who collude with each other, from production, to sales, to finance, even top management. There was a year I overhauled management 3 times in a year. But I've found a solution sha, I now use Indian management. So competent, so honest and so straightforward. I thought they were expensive at first with all the visa fees, accommodation, house staff, but now that losses due to staff theft have been reduced to a minimum, and efficiency increased, the Indian management has turned out to be cheaper than the previous Nigerian management. Now, all sensitive positions involving money go to Indians. Nigerians are only allowed in non-sensitive positions. I used to criticize companies like Dangote Group that hire so many Indians when there are many unemployed Nigerians, but now, I understand their decision.

My biggest challenge in the trading business is the same, getting honest staff. The form of trading occurs in the open market, and involves staff having access to huge sums of money running into a few millions. I know how much I pay to security companies to provide escorts for the staff, not to prevent robbery, but to ensure that the staff go straight to the bank to deposit the money after the day's sales and not disappear with my money. This money spent on security companies is even enough to be declared as profit. We have to spend on CCTV, biometric scanners and other things that wouldn't not be needed if staff weren't looking for the slightest opportunity to steal.

It got so bad at a point that my main criteria for employing staff was no longer competency but honesty. At least, competency and skills can be learnt, but once you're dishonest, you're dishonest.

We always complain of the economy and how they are no jobs. I know people abroad who would have loved to set up job creating businesses in Nigeria but they can't because they can't get any trustworthy person to run it.

I know people in Nigeria with so much money, they want to start factories and other job-creating businesses but they can't because they are occupied elsewhere and can't get any trustworthy person to run the business. So instead of investing in the real sector and creating jobs, they'll just buy treasury bills, while the thieves are shouting no jobs.

Many big businesses would have been born in Nigeria if we could engage in partnerships, but we cant because you can't trust anyone. This is one advantage the Indians and Lebanese have over us in Nigeria. They can pull resources together and do mega-business, unlike Nigerians that because only one person must do everything since we can't partner, end up with small, tiny businesses.

Start a poultry and they will be stealing your eggs. Some will even go
ahead to be killing the chickens so that they'll be allowed to take them home.

Start an entertainment/viewing/game center and they'll be pocketing
your money. On the days you're around at the business, the money
realized will be x10 of the money realized when you're not around.
Because they're eating your money.

Lease out a vehicle to a driver to use and watch as he'll finish you.

Start a restaurant, the same thing will happen. More than half of the
total food ingredients will end up in their personal kitchens.

Even ordinary provisions shop, they will find a way to steal.

You'll see them with that their evil, wicked saying "na where person dey work, na there e dey chop, na e make dem dey callam workchop/workshop"...... Just imagine, justifying theft at work.

And you'll see these people point their crooked fingers at politicians when they're not any different. I usually say the reason most Nigerians haven't stolen billions of government money, is simply lack of opportunity.

Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria.

This is really bad but I still believe that there are still many honest Nigerians

Believe me when I say this
If ur way of getting runs money is legit, then u need to wake ur spiritual life well cos if u know ur right in the kingdom of God, juju will fear u not the other way round. Meanwhile, don't forget to pay ur tithes.
But if the way of getting ur runs money is illegal, dear desist from such act. U might cut short ur life/destiny cos of that. No amount of money or wealth is worth ur soul. Heaven is real and only righteousness qualifies one for it.

I give up on Nigerians... We are all criminals.. Imagine stealing 200k-240k monthly for just one person.. His other colleagues are in too on the criminality.. They could be pocketing more than 1m in a month!! From another man's sweat..

The owner of the business pay all kinds of taxes, pay rent or might have taken loans for the building, pays salaries, plays 2k daily or more to each staff, pays utility bills..

Yet criminal minded Nigerians are asking him to pray and fortify himself...

OP, you will surely die a painful death.. Anyone Is aware of your criminality and benefits will die too.

Imagine!!! Stealing and praying..

Basic salary. :N32000
Daily allowance (21working daysX2k):42000
Steals average :220000

Total :N294000!!!!

On top another man's business..

This same businesswoman will Pay rent or take out a loan for building, slave to save or take out loans to start the business, pay salaries and allowances, pay all types of taxes, pay utility bills, still provide electricity by herself.. Coupled with how difficult doing business in Nigeria is, yet you choose to steal from her.

Only You steals 220k in a month, what about your colleagues?? In a month you guys will steal 1m+!!!! JESUS OOOO!!! Criminal..

You will die of cancer... You and your co-conspirators!!

As much as I don’t believe too much the way people describe dark powers but you may first need to dig in the history of your company.
Try to have some details of that company before now, it could help clarify things better.

Bigyusluv:

You are a thief.... This is why most multinationals do not hire Nigerians....

You have your salary + 2k daily but you still chose to steal from the owner of the store.......

I pray wherever you are, what ever you lay your hands on, whatever you are doing in the store should be done to you x10.

Criminal....

Accident kill you.. Praying after stealing... Nigerians!!!!

The Nigerian of Nigeria!!!!!

I run a manufacturing business and a trading business.
The biggest challenge in my manufacturing business is not power, or infrastructure, the biggest challenge is getting honest staff.

Everyone we hire appears to be on a mission to steal as much as possible. Inflated invoices, recording less than the actual number of units produced.

The worst part of it all is that all the fraud we've uncovered is not done by a single person, it's usually many staff who collude with each other, from production, to sales, to finance, even top management. There was a year I overhauled the Management 3 times in a year.

But I've found a solution, I now use Indian Management Team.

It got so bad at a point that my main criteria for employing staff was no longer conpaetency but honesty.

Our Nigerian Nigeria............
