Bigyusluv:
Hello good morning.

Late April during lockdown, my friend sent me a post, which was advertised by her mom customer in need of an accountant urgently, the job was for graduate and I'm an undergraduate, final year thou I should have graduated since 2018 but left school in my first semester 400l due to mental health issues I was facing which no one know( I can't read and comprehend as I used to anymore) got bored of reading and preparing for exams, set eyes on making money. Just too broke at that time.

I applied for the job with fate, and I was called, went for interview thrice before I was given the job. due to my experience of working as an assistant accountant in one big hotel and working as branch manager in another hotel, and not staying far I was given the job. The pay range was 35k based on my qualifications thou.

I started work first week of May, not too stressful but I'm to resume by 6am and close 6pm, daily allowance 2k and my salary ... I do make 50-60k weekly aside my daily allowance and salary.

Reason I'm thinking about quitting is, early June, on my way to work on bike, I had an accident with Keke, which the Keke man was clearly at fault for swerving without checking his side mirror, but then again, it was just the two of us (bike man and Keke man) on the road, same lane, nothing coming back or front of us, yet the accident.

I had a bruise on my hand and a kinda deep wound an inch from my ankle bone. (which haven't gone yet, used original honey to bring out the surface, thou I no longer feel pains, recently it has dried up).

During that accident period nor of my colleagues/bosses came to visit me as I was home for a week. But my colleagues kept sending my own share from the runs money.

Last Thursday on my way to work, very close to my work place, walking on the street that lead to my office and one man I don't know, was inside his shop/house, saying to me, oboy this your leg never go, na wa oh, them wan just spoil ur leg for you, that your place wey u dey work many don run commot there cause of the juju things wey them dey use follow their workers, better dey pray every day and when u enter office guy. I said thank you sire, while getting to the office tears dropped from my eyes as I prayed.

Next day being Friday on my way home, the bike I took we both fell down, falling to where my wound is, I had to be smart and quickly dodge the bike from landing on that leg... I paid the bike man and trekked to the bustop to get Keke.

This job has really changed me from that sad dude to happy dude, due to financial capability right now... I'm now free of debt and brokenness.

Please advise me, cause I'm not really a spiritual person but all these are making me prayerful (never believed in juju and attack before).

Guy, fortify yourself with prayers. My mum has once had a juju pot with an inscription placed in front of her office. Anyone in places where positions are jostled for will tell you this is a fact. Even in the military.

Watch it...do you know that even in the Super Eagles, players use juju to get competing players in their positions to get injured or to fall out of favour with a coach? I cannot repeat some stories I have heard about this here.

Recently one of my landlords got into the same line of business with me. We have been at insane loggerheads since. Dude who used to talk with me for up to 2 hours at a stretch on issues now avoids me like a plague. I know what's up. I took his name to the God of all creation and took away his sleep.

So you do not run. You fight. But you must also ask yourself; this "runs money" you are referring to...is it clean? That could be the stuff that will break your hedge and allow the serpent to strike.

How do you make 50-60k weekly aside your daily allowance and salary? That over 200k per month for only you. What about you co thieves?

You are a big thief.

You are the one spoiling Nigeria

You need to stop and expose the other people who are doing this.

You guys just steal recklessly.

This is sad

The owner of the business is out there probably still looking for money to pay the loan he took for building and running that business

THE STORY OF A NIGERIAN MANUFACTURER

I run a manufacturing business and a trading business.
The biggest challenge in my manufacturing business is not power, or infrastructure, the biggest challenge is getting honest staff. Everyone we hire is appears to be on a mission to steal as much as possible. Inflated invoices, recording less than the actual number of units produced. The worst part of it all is that all the fraud we've uncovered is not done by a single person, it's usually many staff who collude with each other, from production, to sales, to finance, even top management. There was a year I overhauled management 3 times in a year. But I've found a solution sha, I now use Indian management. So competent, so honest and so straightforward. I thought they were expensive at first with all the visa fees, accommodation, house staff, but now that losses due to staff theft have been reduced to a minimum, and efficiency increased, the Indian management has turned out to be cheaper than the previous Nigerian management. Now, all sensitive positions involving money go to Indians. Nigerians are only allowed in non-sensitive positions. I used to criticize companies like Dangote Group that hire so many Indians when there are many unemployed Nigerians, but now, I understand their decision.

My biggest challenge in the trading business is the same, getting honest staff. The form of trading occurs in the open market, and involves staff having access to huge sums of money running into a few millions. I know how much I pay to security companies to provide escorts for the staff, not to prevent robbery, but to ensure that the staff go straight to the bank to deposit the money after the day's sales and not disappear with my money. This money spent on security companies is even enough to be declared as profit. We have to spend on CCTV, biometric scanners and other things that wouldn't not be needed if staff weren't looking for the slightest opportunity to steal.

It got so bad at a point that my main criteria for employing staff was no longer competency but honesty. At least, competency and skills can be learnt, but once you're dishonest, you're dishonest.

We always complain of the economy and how they are no jobs. I know people abroad who would have loved to set up job creating businesses in Nigeria but they can't because they can't get any trustworthy person to run it.

I know people in Nigeria with so much money, they want to start factories and other job-creating businesses but they can't because they are occupied elsewhere and can't get any trustworthy person to run the business. So instead of investing in the real sector and creating jobs, they'll just buy treasury bills, while the thieves are shouting no jobs.

Many big businesses would have been born in Nigeria if we could engage in partnerships, but we cant because you can't trust anyone. This is one advantage the Indians and Lebanese have over us in Nigeria. They can pull resources together and do mega-business, unlike Nigerians that because only one person must do everything since we can't partner, end up with small, tiny businesses.

Start a poultry and they will be stealing your eggs. Some will even go
ahead to be killing the chickens so that they'll be allowed to take them home.

Start an entertainment/viewing/game center and they'll be pocketing
your money. On the days you're around at the business, the money
realized will be x10 of the money realized when you're not around.
Because they're eating your money.

Lease out a vehicle to a driver to use and watch as he'll finish you.

Start a restaurant, the same thing will happen. More than half of the
total food ingredients will end up in their personal kitchens.

Even ordinary provisions shop, they will find a way to steal.

You'll see them with that their evil, wicked saying "na where person dey work, na there e dey chop, na e make dem dey callam workchop/workshop"...... Just imagine, justifying theft at work.

And you'll see these people point their crooked fingers at politicians when they're not any different. I usually say the reason most Nigerians haven't stolen billions of government money, is simply lack of opportunity.

Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria.
Well said.

Try me and you will know there are still good ones.
I need a job Sir.

Hello good morning.

Please advise me, cause I'm not really a spiritual person but all these are making me prayerful (never believed in juju and attack before).
My brother, this life is a mystery that u must understand as you grow up in life.

Every stage in life got a devil and angel in it and it's all for our learning and advancement.

You started making money and being happy also at the same time. That's a great gate in the spirit realm. Juju and prayer is now one of the challenges you're having as you journey in this found success.

What it means, it's either you go to devil to get protected and dare the consequences or you go to God seriously and also get protected. You can never rise in life and be neutral.

I pity any man that is neutral in this life. One, the person will never rise to a greater level aside managing.

It's either you become spiritual or run to devil quickly to help you get covered if not, they will come with force and it may render you useless.

The first simple rule....if you're a Christian, as soon as u enter your office, before u do anything, sit on ur table and commit the day's work in the hands of God and cancel evil plans of darkness. Anyday u fail, be sure to have challenges. Or go to baba and collect something and follow the rules...but they won't tell u the consequences.

Take it or leave it

Oga no de disturb person here, stop entering okada, it kills pple on a daily.

And most importantly -

JUJU doesn't exist.

Just accept this from a spiritualist n dont ask questions.

JUJU doesn't exist.

There are no sincere Nigerians.

Keke Napep will still kill him.

I give up on Nigerians... We are all criminals.. Imagine stealing 200k-240k monthly for just one person.. His other colleagues are in too on the criminality.. They could be pocketingore than 1m in a month!! From another man's sweat..

The owner of the business pay all kinds of taxes, pay rent or might have taken loans for the building, pays salaries, plays 2k daily or more to each staff, pays utility bills..

Yeah criminal minded Nigerians are asking him to pray and fortify himself...

OP, you will surely die a painful death.. Anyone that benefits

Damn!....You sound like you have experienced this first hand as a business owner... It's quite sad bro, how we celebrate criminality and call it being smart and sharp is really very disappointing.

I can attest to this because one of my in-law had his business crippled to the ground today because someone who manages diesel decided to help himself with plenty of cash, he stole to the point that he now has a house in Abuja, from living in one bedroom apartment. Today, my in-law is still struggling and battling loans he collected for the business while the thief enjoys his loot. Very pathetic.
My advice has always been this... Use technology... Technology these days have been even more advanced to monitor a lot of loopholes. It's just same Nigerian business owners are reluctant to invest in cutting edge tech that will save them these losses.

The Nigerian of Nigeria!!!!!
##########

I run a manufacturing business and a trading business.
The biggest challenge in my manufacturing business is not power, or infrastructure, the biggest challenge is getting honest staff.

Everyone we hire appears to be on a mission to steal as much as possible. Inflated invoices, recording less than the actual number of units produced.

The worst part of it all is that all the fraud we've uncovered is not done by a single person, it's usually many staff who collude with each other, from production, to sales, to finance, even top management. There was a year I overhauled the Management 3 times in a year.

But I've found a solution, I now use Indian Management Team.

It got so bad at a point that my main criteria for employing staff was no longer conpaetency but honesty.

Our Nigerian Nigeria............

This is quite expository!! You are absolutely right about this!!

Since it's bike accident, you should stop using bike to come to work, I believe you can use keke or taxi.

That work is lucrative and I hope it's Godly cos whenever runs is mentioned it means "anyway na way" as long as it pays bills.

You should be prayerful. I have seen a human used hand to carry juju and burnt it to ashes.

Both jujuman and juju will fear you if you are truly prayerful. They never born dem well.

Have you heard of "course correcting"?
Maybe the day he stops entering bike, something worse may happen...God forbid though.
I think bike is so prone to accident and those bike guys, you can't really trust them. Most are reckless. Many have lost their lives because of their recklessness.

That's my point of view though

You are a thief.... This is why most multinationals do not hire Nigerians....

You have your salary + 2k daily but you still chose to steal from the owner of the store.......

I pray wherever you are, what ever you lay your hands on, whatever you are doing in the store should be done to you x10.

Criminal....

Accident kill you.. Praying after stealing... Nigerians!!!!

Doesn't it amaze you that prior to your calling out the OP on his dishonesty, no other moniker bothered to mention it. It's so bad now that stealing and corruption at the work place is now the norm that no one bothered to admonish the OP about it.

Like I say in my business threads, the average Nigerian is EXTREMELY corrupt! S/he will scheme, lie, pervert justice, steal with impunity, murder and do ANYTHING to get his her way. The universe has to really smile on you to find a conscientious Nigeria worker or business partner, so, when foreigners take us to task about our inherent dishonesty, most time I always defend us because "what else can I do"? She:s my country, my motherland and I cannot deny her.

There is light at the end of the tunnel though, as there are still 'righteous' ones amongs this den of thieves.

And to the OP, you better desist from your so called "runs" if you want the.powers that be to smile upon the work of your hands.

Your not a serious person..

If their really juju people, I would have advised you to pray being a real Christian and you would overcome .. But your not...since you think stealing should be overlooked because it's you and because your in Nigeria

Your using your life to play Kalo kalo with devil, continue..

He didn't tell you guys how he makes his side money. Since he called hotel, my dear, if it's big hotel there are lots of ways to make money. Those in front office gets lots of tips and those in restaurants and bars also make lots of tips. Some sell hard drugs to the guests and so on and some arrange babes for guests too. Don't be fast in judging.

Thanks

bro the problem is not just technology, it can be bypassed. When I read what he posted and got to the point where he stated that he got like 50-60 weekly then I knew that the company lacked one thing. Audit Department If you have a good audit department in a company, stealing will become 1% or very minimal. I wish such an hotel can employ me as an auditor u go see how I go block all their holes. The problem is Auditing.
