I've never used their WAW detergent, but people who do should please boycott their products! A country where nearly all her workforce is casualized without insurance and benefits is an evil one! This is so painful, so so painful!

Noted henceforth.

There are some kind of death that could have been avoided, if the right thing was done.

I have been through such situation, I know what I am saying....
I understand you, but I believe those kinds of death are based on personal decisions.

Just as you want schools to resume, there are people who think and desire otherwise. If they opened schools, people would still die, by road accidents or other means. Now would you say the reason they died was because the schools resumed?

We just can't understand death, no matter how much we try to rationalize it. No matter how faithless a man is, he still lives life by faith 'cause he doesn't know what's next.

The problem with night shift. Many workers on night shift do not rest fully.

RIP to the young man. To be in Ibadan and decide to do a holiday work at a factory is commendable. An average person would have been busy with a laptop looking for scam victims.

I hope his family have the fortitude to bear the loss. It's just sad that there might not have been a workman compensation insurance for the boy as he was a "casual" worker

Branch manager of the so called company are earning more than 3.5M in a month. I couldn't believe it that the manager still have the audacity to slash out of the casual workers daily allowances, From 5K to 1.5k.
God who cursed this country. Heal our land.

The country is not cursed, the people are Narcissists and wicked.

Just trying to picture what the lad went through.
R.I.P lad Nigeria failed him. If it was a sane country that young boy should be at home taking online courses not working with heavy duty machine he has little or no knowledge about.
You mean for sane country, student don't do factory work or they don't work at all.
You don't have to discredit your country all the time to make a point
May his soul rest in perfect peace

5k per shift was too much if you ask me . Go to some of these Chinese and Lebanese companies, they pay workers 500-1k and they go home happy.

This is a really slavish statement to make my friend. 5000naira is the equivalent of about 10pounds right now. That's what people make per hour doing similar jobs in the UK and you say it's too much to pay the same amount to someone for a whole day's work? Aren't you just wicked?

Nigerians should wake up and begin to demand for better remuneration for work done. And not continue to have the sort of slavish mentality that's been exhibited by this your comment.

What a loss to the society and especially his family.

While youths of his age are at home wasting and whiling away time he chose to work as a factory worker.

While many youths of his age, graduate and undergraduate would shun such menial job, he took it and diligently too.

I am sure the salary would be miserable too but he took it anyway. Such a wonderful boy!

So sad. RIP.

This is not true. Sahara reporters are as usual lying. The boy and his mother were doing the casual job. I know because I know. Won't be revealing more than that but this reportage is half true.

And no one was allowed in because who will trust the area boys that were mobilized. They blocked Oluyole on that particular day... Won't say more.

I've had my own share of the terrifying experiences too, they were very gory I tell you. Right in front of my eyes while working for a Pharmaceutical company, a colleague lost three of his fingers. He was blamed for 'negligence' and was sacked because he wasn't capable of working anymore.
Yes, they search for faults and blame it on negligence.

So touching. I have experienced where one machine in such industry rubbished a worker's hand. I vomitted for a whole day, Crazily enough, the industry calls it negligence and nothing can you do about it.

Nigeria was not created for the benefits of human. Everything in Nigeria even p
Government are killers.

If you are in IBADAN you can switch your radio to Splash fm. Kai!! i couldn't hold my emotion as i was crying when his elder sister was crying and talking that her mother in the hospital should not die ooo.
Please remember to pray for the family in your area. It was very tragedic as they were just only two in the hand of their parent
Please inform Splash FM to go digital like Wazobia 94.1 FM Port Harcourt. With www.wazobiafm.com or its app, one can tune and listened to any of its station anywhere in the world. I like listening to Obilo

Sincerly NIGERIA can't move forward with this mentality of yours. You are saying that 150k is too much for a person working vigorously for the whole month, and the best the manager can do is to slash the amount to 45k after collecting more than 3.5M as his own salary.
Be informed that the CEO of the organization know nothing about the slavish behaviour, the manager is just using the priviedge for his selfish interest and pocket 70% of their salary . And if those workers decided to protest, they will threaten to sack them.
This is termed selfishness, the organization had disbursed the amount for her casual workers yet another human is pocketing 70% out of it.

How was this even possible? What is the company policy on health, safety and environment?

Where are Nigerian lawyers, SAN and lots when they are most needed. This here is good case for a lawsuit to get justice for Gbadebo and his family, and benefits as their counsel.

Wish I was a lawyer, this would be my focus for making it big; helping hapless people and progressing as a legal entity as well. Win-win.
