He would be found in other parts of Nigeria.

An Ikwerre hardworking lady who is good at cooking could discover that the area she stays in PH is already choked with persons that cook as good as she can, she can relocate to let's say Benin City, in a street where the other restaurants can't match her culinary skills, and establish her restaurant business. Before you know it, she is the biggest restaurant owner in the area and would soon start training her younger ones in Emohua village in schools. She might have a customer who has connections in University of Benin, she talks to him, and he helps her secure lucrative courses admission for her two brothers at home.
The brothers graduate, marry Edo women, gets job with a company in Benin.

This is an idea of how a hardworking people tend to spread moping up every single opportunities their surroundings can offer.

The silly professor avoided to comment on what would have nullified his feverish rambling. He didn't say how come their language is similar to Igbo than anything originating from Edo/Bini.

Governor Wike made a subtle, yet a very loud move, by renaming a state structure after Yakubu Gowon, something an Igbo man living or dead, would never contemplate.

Truth is, Igbos once believed that Ikwerres were a part of us.
Events during and after the civil war cured many of us of that craze. The horrible thing the whole of Nigerians are still suffering from is ignorance about the events leading up to the war, largely because caliphate backed government has tried to remove it from being studied in history lessons.
If all those events were objectively recorded and secondary schools are mandated to make them part of the curriculum, any Ikwerre who claimed to be Igbo would get lynched on the spot.

We're large enough to stay on our own and even throw banters at other big tribes. Same can't be said for ikwerres who on one hand insult igbos and the other hand insult ibibio/Efik with their meager population and 3.5LGA and think they can get away with it .

Only a gullible person or a child will call Ikwerre Igbo. We Igbos have nothing in common with Ikwerre. Yes, they can use our language and tradition, but that doesn't mean sh!t. They're a minute minority and maybe that's why they lost all their Bini identity and started using that of Igbos even when other minorities that have interacted more with Igbos all retained theirs.

The Ikwerres are too insignificant for Igbos to bother themselves over. The same way I see Fulanis is the same way I see them. I even regard the Yorubas or Ijaws or Ibibios or Hausa as more friendly than the Ikwerre, at least non of them were as wicked and evil as these guys who decided to seize Igbo properties in P.H at a period Igbos were totally down due to the civil war.

The Biafrans(IPOB), on the other hand, are coming from a position of superiority because they are agitating for Biafra, both in the SE and SS, and they want that Biafra to be created for only those who give their consent via a referendum.

So as a Nigerian who is coming from a position of inferiority of an imposed country, you have no basis to argue with IPOB who are coming from the superior position of a Biafra created by democratic referendum

If Nigerians feel that IPOB is dragging some areas into a referendum they never asked for, then Nigerians should agree to immediate dissolution of Nigeria that we were all dragged into with anyones consent. If Nigeria is dissolved, then we can start talking about who wants to drag who into what

But to come from the position of an imposed country to question those who want a country created democratically is a non-starter.

A few numbers of Ikwerre folks can be found in IPOB, no doubt.
But that doesn't make the larger Ikwerre clan Igbos.
Most Igbos used to think so. Used to believe that Ikwerres are Igbos with their slightly different dialects. But it is the Ikwerres themselves who voiced it out publicly, especially in their socio-political group, ogbako Ikwerre, that they are not Igbos.

Their igbo-phobic outbursts became more strident. I have Elechi Amadi's comments on the issue. Several prominent Ikwerre sons lend their voice to it, that Ikwerres are not Igbos. That Ikwerres migrated from Bini. Why should we accept otherwise?
Governor Wike made a subtle, yet a very loud move, by renaming a state structure after Yakubu Gowon, something an Igbo man living or dead, would never contemplate.
He couldn't name it after Ken Saro Wiwa, Isaac Adaka Boro, or even if he has a hard on for ex military generals, why not guys like TY Danjuma, David Marks, or people like Lawrence Onoja?

No, he had to send a message to Igbos: your enemy is my friend. Amen
You know what? Most Igbos were not surprised by that move. We already knew. We just moved on. Another day in the jungle.

No, Ikwerres aren't Igbos. No amount of self immolation you perform can change that fact. Ikwerres met Igbos for a few decades and "lost their Bini tongue", right? but other ethic groups like Ibibios, Idomas, Anangs, who have mixed with Igbos for thousands of years still retain their language and cultural identities. Why is that? Are the Ikwerres the most confused subhuman specie on planet earth?
We've separated too far to ever come back together. Ever.
