All the more reason why the Biafra idea is STUPID.

Who will be the primary market of this expansion in Anambra State?

NIGERIANS.

Africa's biggest market, and the world's 6th largest consumer market.

Secessionists imagine that they will be able to sell these wares to the world, and don't need the Nigerian market. But they are seriously deluded. Countries are putting up protectionist barriers to build their own local industries. Others like China, have comparative advantage in manufacturing, and will leverage that to start price wars if need be, lowering them to stave off any competition.

Many buying countries would simply prefer the familiarity of Italian or even China made products, and would shun new, unproven stuff from some little African country.

Bottom line: For these Eastern industries to thrive, and take off to the next level, THEY NEED THE NIGERIAN MARKET.

Secession kills that immediately.

Nigeria is projected to become the world's THIRD most populous nation after China and India by 2050.

That is MARKET on a world class scale which Igbo manufacturers can have FIRST ACCESS TO BEFORE ALL-COMERS, if they play their cards right, and remain in the federation.

That FIRST ACCESS to the Nigerian market is already happening slowly, as groups like INNOSON and others get government supply contracts. INNOSON even supplies the Nigerian Airforce with equipment now.

As we approach 2050, the Igbos could become the richest ethnicity in all Africa, and among the richest on earth, if they remain...Nigerians.

A word is enough for the wise.

You are just plain Stupid, jealous kill your generation there...You are so deluded in your hate that you don't know that Igbos are already setting up factories in Asian countries. What goods?

99% of you would be deported to the East. We are talking of the remaining 1% and they can't compete with China.

I noticed in your stupidity that you are not good with history, check most of the countries that separated from each other , they later continued doing business even while they had political tensions.

The USA fought for their independence against the British and today they are like brothers and sisters, South Sudan fought for many years to be separated from Sudan , recently Sudan have promised to send troops to help stop the recent killings in South Sudan , I could go on and on.

What you have felt to understand is that should Biafra separate from Nigeria, you think they would be perpetual enemies of Nigeria, no it doesn't work that way. The businesses between the two countries would still continue, people would still visit both countries for business.

Do you know that since the partition, that India and Pakistan have fought three major wars , one minor war and several armed skirmishes ?Yet these two countries still do business, yes I know about this as I live in India.

How is that commendable. When will these people learn to do something of international standard. They said shoe factory but all I see are sandals. Build a shoe factory that can be compared with international standards. And produce something worth of international exports.

What do your village produce? I hate sounding as a tribalist, but sometimes you cant help but put people like you where they belong ,I also have noticed that anytime something of note worthiness is shown about Igbos , a certain section of this country are always the ones to downplay it , this is not good.

What you don't understand is that COMPETITION remains the critical success secret of the Igbo tribe!!!It's actually the greatest driving force for continous enterprenual successes recorded in Igboland, coincidentally Competition is also the driving force of CAPITALISM.

So let's even assume that Biafra comes ,they would export their products , Igbo are traders globally they would import from Aba

As a pan-African poster, you can sue for unity via other means not this as its logic at base is shaky - if they are allowed to form their own country for example, nothing still stops Gabon, Mali, Niger, Cameroon and the likes from continuing to buy from them if Nigeria does not want to. Biafra is a hot-button issue obviously but that does not mean one can start turning logic on its head.

Very intelligent and thoughtful submission. But, my brother, the one Nigeria is chocking us. A situation where people who are contributing little or nothing to the nation's revenue but wants to control everything is annoying. This is even more so when they are desperate to get rid of others just to achieve their aim. I love one Nigeria. But I think having independent states where everybody controls his resources will be the best. We can't keep deceiving ourselves that we can ever unite and work as one in this country when we have allowed tribalism and ethnicity to fester and destroy the bond of unity. All these fight will stop when every state realizes that they are solely responsible for their wellbeing. I say NO to seccession but a big YES to independent states. A United States of Nigeria
