MY ARSENAL PLAYER RATINGS DEFENCE Tierney- 6/10. Seems we have found at least a reasonable solution to our leftback that died with the departure of Nacho Monreal. While Tierney appears to be work-in-progress in the defensive department of his job role, he is definitely on legend mode offenisvely with his dangerous crosses into opposition box. Its just so refresshing seeing him seeting up attack play and at times even getting assists like he did vs Man city. I will say he is definitely a good addition to the team. Kolasinac- 3.5/10. If this guy was bought with seizable amount of cash I would've rated him 1.5/10 but since we got him on a free I will let him pass with the 3.5. Honestly the only defensive duty he did all season which I can say I'm impress is the one in which he defended Ozil against carjackers . Boda Kola was just not the man to call when the team needs further defensive optionsMustafi- 3.5/10. No big team that plans on winning the league should have a player like Mustafi in their ranks. I dont hate Mustafi, but I just feel he's not good enough. I honestly can't explain what and what he needs to do to improve his game, but It's obvious he's just not good enough for a big team to rely on as a central defender. His decisions on and off the ball are questionable, he lacks awareness and get roughened up easily by average attackers. While it may appear he seemed improved under Arteta, I'm not fooled one bit to see he is not the man for Arsenal. Holding 4.5/10. Rob appears to be a player who would play well for us in the future, but his injuries have not helped him to show how good he can be. I rated him as high as 4.5 due to how he came tru for us when it mattered most vs Loserpool. The fact that he was even to frustrate and man mark Mane all game reminded me of Matersacker vs Chelsea in the F.A cup final where the BFG gave the performance of his life. I hope holding stays on hi feet and gives more of those performances. David Luiz: 4/10. Hero today; Villain tomorrow, Doctor saving lives today; Hired Assassin killing breadwinners tomorrow. I don't even know how best to describe him and the season he had, but I just hope going forward Arteta knows which game to start Luiz and which ones he must sit-out. Left to me I would not support his contract extension but since that decision has been made by the club's management already I hope Arteta knows when to let him give the kind of performance he delivered versus Loserpool and when he should be in the stands cheering the boys Bellerin 4/10. Hector has lost the steam, he's appearing not to be the guy we thought he would be. I am totally unimpressed with his performance this season. His decision making has been questionable of late, I don't know if it's due to his injury man's not hot for now. He should really work on his crosses into the box. We could've used more of his good crosses to get good points this season. Cedric: 3.5/10. I have lamented here before about Arsenal's recent strange new policy of buying players with injury thereby being unable to use them immediately. I don't know if this makes them cheaper or something, but obviously this guyman Soares is a victim of this strange policy. We didn't get to see him play proper until when his 6 months loan was coming to an end. The little I've seen him play he appears to be capable of dislodging Bellerin if given the necessary play-time. But ordinarily I would prefer Bellerin is sold, we get a very good Right back and have Cedric Deputize for that new signing. I'm not comfortable with Bellerin as number 2 neither with Cedric as first choice centre back too. Pablo Mari 3.5/10. Another player in a similar situation with Cedric. He didn't play much before he was injured but I hope he will play as well as we saw in the videos we watched when he was signed. |

MIDFIELD Ceballos 7/10. He had a very slow start to the season and was almost frozen out of the team by Mr Good Ebening and his grinding machine tactics but with the coming of his fellow Spaniard to the helms of affairs he rose from the ashes. He appears to be doing things Ramsey took so many years to learn. I just hope He can work on his shooting ability especially when corners drop off our attackers while trying to nod. I mean with a shooting ability of midfielders like Fabinho , he will do us much good. Ceballos impressed me. Willock 4/10. Despite Mr. Good Ebening starting him ahead his seniors with more experience in a bid to prove whatever he was trying to prove, this boy is just not ready to transit into Arsenal's first team. There are a whole lot of improvements that needs to be done to his game before I would even recommend him to make Arsenal's bench. Maybe a year or two loan to a chamionship team or any mid table team will do him good....Maybe he will turn out to be Arsenal-suitable by then or maybe we can cash-in on him, but for now I don't think he is a finished goods. Xhaka 5.5/10. I know he has had a really rough year from being appointed Captain controversially, to being scape goated for Mr Good ebening's woes , being disrespected by the fans and he reacting awkwardly to it and finally warming himself back to the heart of his fans ; I feel for him. That being said despite not being among the top 10 players in that position he plays across the EPL, its obvious he is the only Arsenal player that can manage to play the role with physical stature to do so. It's obvious he is highly prone to error when pressed too much by opposition players but he also gave his own share of savig our asses. Getting Thomas Pertey to relieve him of these physical ball shielding and holding possession won't be a bad decion. Guendouzi 3.5/10. I just have one Igbo proverb for this Jerry Curl Boy: ..." Let the he-goat continue to grow beard alongside his owner, on eke market day it shall be decided who will drag the other to the market" Torriera 3.5/10 The Uruguayan has definitely not given account of himself this season. Although he didnt have nuch playing time, but the few matches he featured in were not really memorable. I sense he may be on his way out of the club due to the same reason of not having much playing time. Mitland-Niles 5/10. I don't Know if I should place him here or with defenders. He had an average season but In recent times he has been up to the task when he's called up to action. Honestly I don't know what position I want to see him play next season, but I know he won't be getting much playing time like he did under Emery. Seems Arteta is a no-nonsense coach who would bench u once u start giving below average performances unlike Mr Good Ebening. Ozil 2.5/10. This one is Omoluabi turn Yahoo boy. He reminds me of a roommate who started yahoo in 300Level with a CGPA on strong second class lower, he made enough money got disoriented and took class less serious. He graduated with a third class he had to block to avoid slipping to pass grade. Ozil seem to always find a way not to fit into the plan of the 3 different coaches that has managed Arsenal in the past one year and half. I think he's done at Arsenal |

ATTACK AubaMeyang 9.5/10. I would've scored him 10/10 if he had scored another goal vs Watford to level with Vardy on the last day of EPL action. He has been consistent in his goal scoring form, he has justified why he was signed despite Arsenal buying Lacazette for good money. I will always rate him above Lacazette as far as goal scoring is concerned. I understand Arsenal not playing in the champions league may affect his decision to sign or not to sign a new contract, but one thing is sure we didn't waste money signing him. Seeing him score as much as 22 EPL goals playing on the left flank shows how good he is as a forward Martinelli 6.5/10. I remember referring to him as Nobodyinho the Brazilian cos at a time we needed a well established winger whom we expected to push our attack the management decided to get us a fairly unknown Brazilian teenager whom most of us have never heard of before.... Well fast forward to last days of Mr Good Ebening have was like the only spark in the team at that time and did everything to give good account of himself. Prior to his injury under Arteta he still performed well, in fact his goal vs Chelsea is the goal I will award the best individual goal of the season. I hope he comes back better after the injury Saka :8/10. Bukayo for me is the revelation of the season from playing LB, LWB, RW I must cinfrdd he has been quite impressive not just amongst his peers but also his seniors. His goals, crosses and even assists show the quality and potentials he has. I sincerely hope he doesn't get derailed by injuries or fatigue. Nelson : 4.5/10. I'm not yet convinced about his quality. I want to see him bet his marker with ball at his feet, I want to see him do something other than sprinting past the corner line.....He needs to do more if he would be taken serious. Pepe: 6.5/10. His start to life in the EPL was rough and his performance affected by the burden that comes with his price tag. Nonetheless he didn't give up on himself and seem to be adjusting towards the concluding part of the season. While I find fault in his kind of wing play which is not direct and swift as much as I would want, pepe seem to have improved greatly on his shooting ability as evidenced by his goal vs Brighton and the one disallowed vs Chelsea. I also think he should be allowed to play more free kicks as against Ceballos and Lacazette always wanting to do the honors. Nketiah :4.5/10. The young lad still has a lot to learn particularly his first touch and finishing. Without this Martinelli will come back from injury and still find a way to push him to the bench. I know it may sound ridiculous but I don't mind having him go on a short term loan again Lacazette : 6.5/10. I don't know why, I just feel this guy will play really well in a team set up like Athletico Madrid. He played well for us this season, but I don't see him leading Arsenal's frontline without any other person scoring as much as Auba is doing. If we make him top 9 I see us having goal drought once in a while |

Arsenal in talks to sign attacking duo as Arteta aims to seal ambitious triple swoop by Gooner Mac August 4, 2020 Arsenal are plotting an ambitious triple swoop to sign Philippe Coutinho, Thomas Partey and Willian as Mikel Arteta looks to rebuild his squad this summer, according toThe Times. The Gunners ended a turbulent campaign with silverware after beating Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday and the victory at Wembley also ensured Arsenal would be playing in the Europa League next season. Arteta is now expected to have more money available as he looks to reshape his squad this summer and The Times claims the Arsenal coach is planning at least three experienced signings to fit into his new-look 4-3-3 system next year. The newspaper says Arsenal are hoping to sign Coutinho as Arteta looks to address a lack of creativity in the squad. The Brazilian is set to leave Barcelona after failing to secure a permanent move to Bayern Munich following an initial loan this season. Coutinho could now be available on another short-term deal or Arsenal may look to finance a permanent transfer if enough money can be generated from the sale of players such as Matteo Guendouzi, Mesut Ozil and Lucas Torreira. Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reported last week that Arsenal are in pole position to sign Coutinho after chief Raul Sanllehi held extensive talks with the attackers agent, Kai Joorabchian, so it appears a deal is on the cards. The Times is one of several outlets reporting that Arsenal are also after Willian after he rejected Chelsea’s latest contract offer. The Brazilian winger is available on a free transfer after running down his contract and is also represented by Joorabchian. The Guardian says Arsenal are in talks with Willian’s representatives about a move across London and journalist Daniel Harris suggests a deal is close to completion so it looks like the 31-year-old could be heading to the Emirates. If Guendouzi and Torreira leave then Arsenal will certainly have to bring in another central midfielder this summer and The Times claims Arteta wants to sign Partey from Atletico Madrid. The 27-year-old has impressed under Diego Simeone but with Atletico demanding the full value of his £45m [source: La Razon] release clause, Arsenal will need to bring-in a significant amount of money if they want to fund their transfer plans. The Gunners are desperate to tie Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang down to a new deal and if the Gabon hitman does commit his future to the club, then Arsenal may look to cash-in on Alexandre Lacazette to generate added funds for the transfer kitty. It’s going to be a busy summer at Arsenal but I personally think it would be superb business if the club were able to sign Coutinho, Willian and Partey. If Arteta could also land another top centre-back, then Arsenal’s squad would look strong heading into next season. |

Kbs468:I would be happy to see Coutinho and Most importantly Thomas Partey sporting the red and white jersey next season. As regards Willian I just hope our management use the fact that he wants to remain in London to negotiate a deal favorable to us financially. We shouldn't give him some damn expensive wage because he seem to be the desperate one in this case. I know that Willian's agent is good at negotiating bumper pay for his clients but we shouldn't be paying Willian a cut-throat salary. If Willian's deal should come thru it will surely alter development of youngsters like Nelson and Co. They would surely have to go on loan or get sold outrightly |

Jodera: iamoyindamola:My brethren, I don talk am before and I go talk am again we don't need Willian, especially for the wage he is quoting! For heaven's sake this guy is turning 32 in 5 days from now! This is too dangerous and not worth the risk if you ask me, worsestill his goal/ assist return doesn't favor why we should be signing him. Also, will he fit what Arteta is trying to do with the press? This does not feel right at all! |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 9:47pm On Aug 04, 2020 |
Roland17:I don't know why we dey rush to sign all these old and free signings. Someone that in 2yrz time or even by next year, we'll start thinking how to dispose him. It's even his goal returns sef that pissing me off. Except he plays left back, I don't wanna see him on the wings |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Kbs468(m): 8:34am On Aug 05, 2020 |
Jodera:That's the big question. what do we need him for? But I guess Arteta probably need him for a 433 since he wants to dispose off Lacazette which would then pave way for Aubameyang to take the center forward position with willian on the left and Pepe to the right |

Good morning, Gooners! It appears there's one more hurdle before Willian can complete his move across London – and he's shaped like Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The current Chelsea winger, 32 on Saturday, is close to signing a three-year contract with the FA Cup winners worth £130,000 a week. However, first the £180,000-a-week Mkhitaryan must be shifted from the wage bill and he is keen to remain at Roma where he has been on loan. It appears done, though, as a leaked PES 2021 clip shows Willian in an Arsenal shirt. Another target, Jack Grealish, is rumoured to be on the verge of signing a new £100,000-a-week contract at Aston Villa. Former Celtic striker Harald Brattbakk believes a £40m offer for current hitman Odsonne Edouard will be hard for the Scottish champions to refuse. Brattbakk believes his value could rise further if someone doesn't act quickly given the rate he scores at, while current striker Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang is being out sold by former Celt Kieran Tierney in shirt sales. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 11:08am On Aug 05, 2020 |
Kbs468:Abeg let them sell Mkhitaryan to Roma or any other Club willing to sell, its just obvious he can't fit into Arteta's plans. In fact he should be number one on the departure list. As for Jack Graelish I don't think we would be able match what Villa would be asking for him neither will we match his wage demands. We should just let go |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 12:43pm On Aug 05, 2020 |
Kbs468:If Willian is willing to accept 130k I think it's OK as he is free. We lack creative players for sure so if we can get one free on a reasonable wage, then that's fine by me. I am opposed to selling any of our creative players unless we have sure replacements. Mkhitaryan and Ozil for example. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 1:22pm On Aug 05, 2020 |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 1:27pm On Aug 05, 2020 |
Spy360:Unfortunately, Mkhitaryan has not been what u call him to be; creative player. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 1:41pm On Aug 05, 2020 |
Jodera:I am not against selling but we must be sure of replacements. Arteta was left with zero creativity in his AM. He had to adapt to using Ceballos and Xhaka as double pivot. Meaning he was defensive. A creative player like would increase his attacking options and help switch attack away from just the wings. |
