I import sienna 4 sale and one driver canvass me into putting it for interstate for 40k weekly.

I decide to give it a try, within 3months of doing the business i regret my decision.

40k weekly 4 sienna sound so good, when u calculate it weekly to one year.

but the repairs will frustrate u, brake pad will be change every 2 weeks, oil every 2 weeks, tie rod, ball joints, tires u will have to keep changing, and u wont be able to save from the 40k

Thought NL uber drivers are the problems.

Ogudu, from ikeja via the expressway is currently blocked.

Avoid trips going to kosofe, Ogudu, gbagada.

Destination is owirinshoki.

From alausa, we had to go all the way to yaba use petrgrave to Herbert macualy n clinic road, then head back to 3MB to link owirinshoki on the other side.

Hello Bolts,

We implore you to kindly look into the issues Drivers have been raising, so we can collectively and mutually benefit and enjoy the partnership relationship between Drivers community and your e-hailing ride sharing platform.

Your continuous disregard to situation of Drivers will one day serve as throw back to the operations of Bolts as an e-hailing company in the country.

Please kindly investigate and conduct proper research into the issue of poor and very low fare charges on trips offered to potential riders and customers especially in the city of Lagos.

Obstacles such as Traffic congestion, Terrible bad road network, Excessive interference of Law enforcement agents, increasing cost of vehicle parts, high cost of vehicle maintenance and repair, these and many more has hampered Drivers efforts to deliver quality service to customers and riders.

Adding to this now, is Bolts deliberate and conscious disbursement of close to zero charges and ride promos at the expense of Drivers pains and sweat, coupled with the back-breaking percentage commission charge of 20% levied on Drivers gross income.

The Drivers are sacrificing more than convenient and more than necessary to ensure the Team work which we signed into, yield results. We the Drivers under your platform Pray, that you likewise put forward a commiserate energy to the success of all this promotions in the following measures.

Firstly, the Drivers under your platform seek for a downward review of the companies Percentage commission, at most to an appreciable level. Convenient for all the connected stakeholders in the industry, namely Bolts, Drivers, Car owners(Investors), Riders etc.

Secondly, the Drivers under your platform seek and request, that you reverse and re-position the fare charges for trips to be at par with the quality, top notch, efficient service delivered at the door steps of homes, offices and at all hours as required by our highly esteemed customers and riders of this great establishment.

We kindly envisage and appreciate your prompt and respectful response to this requests. Thanks in advance and Remain Blessed.

Driving is now a side hustle so I don't do online trips anymore, strictly offline but I left the apps on my phone in case I need them for destination trips

OK. Got the shaft fixed today. I fixed just the driver side where the issue is, though I thought of doing both sides. Ended up buying it 4k but he was willing to give 7k for both.

You were changing oil every two weeks? Chai

A semi synthetic oil can last 10000km

Lagos to Abuja is 700km

So you mean your driver was covering that kind of distance 13 times in 14 days?
So your driver would be traveling like Lagos to Abuja every single day for two weeks?

Him dey manufacture him own passengers? grin

So sorry sir
That's what happen to people who think they know more than every other person.

You are absolutely right sir, but you want a seamless car to work and deliver excellently you need the top notch input to function. This oil prolongs and actually reduces engine deposits sir. From experience once you use this oil and it runs a full service circle, I will drain all the oil and drive the car few Kilometres without the engine packing up without any oil in the engine. This I can tell you

Isn't that the same guy crying here about wanting 35k weekly for his cars this period.

If a driver comes now and promises him that amount he will quickly surrender his keys then come back after 2 weeks still crying about how drivers are not honest or how his car took a beating.

I have at Everytime tried to let people know that there are other transport segments more lucrative than e hailing at the moment.

But you too belong to the same bandwagon na.

I tot you said your drivers are remmitting 30/35k this period!

Nice one, there should be a deliberate effort by drivers to make bolt know their deficiencies as regards pricing. If other drivers can send mails to them. I'm positive bolt team would have a re-think about the issue raised.

You can equally do your market survey and compare between interstate and e hailing at the moment.

Every business has got it's own share of risks, you have seen people on here telling people especially new entrants to jettison e hailing for now except you will be driving yourself.

Interstate is equally lucrative and you are more in control of your earnings than on e hailing.

Thanks bro,I appreciate

Personally, I don't know about other businesses. But you see transportation, it demands Active participation.

If one is the type that just sleeps at home and expect to see Alert, hmmmm.. it's most likely to end in tears

Also, one needs to learn and gather experience. You could achieve this as you dive into it, or let an experienced person guide you.

I really can't argue with his experience, but what will make one change oil every 2 weeks? Obviously Mobil XHP was used...Penny wise

Knowledge is more valuable than money in transportation.

Give someone with Knowledge and expertise the same Sienna and watch him increase the car by 1 in 24 months

In summary: Anybody that wants to enjoy transportation should be ready to learn, get burnt and learn more...If you dey find cool money from the start, it may not happen that way

I am not as crazy as that!! I kept emphasising that I don't do strictly e hailing.

How can someone expect e hailing driver to be delivering 35k weekly, isn't that madness.naj ghost him wan dey carry?

He won't do 25 for e hailing, he won't do 40 for interstate, how confused can a man be. Maybe he should go and buy bicycles and be renting it to children, at least he won't be spending too much on maintenance

So because you failed doesn't mean everyone else would.

I have been doing this and I have people who are also into it.

As it is with e hailing where you have failures and success stories so it is with every business. There are people on this very forum who do interstate,@carshopper readily comes to mind.

I repeat, a sienna will do 40k weekly even this period and it makes more sense than a Corolla of same amount.

Yes, u have been doing it as a driver, for sure u will succeed.

Those doing it and are very successful dont do 40k weekly rent, either u own a park to issue ticket directly, or u r on the road yourself.

But given it to a driver to bring u weekly rent of 40k is complete nonsense.

Dont forget to inform the potential investor, sometimes they will claim car get spoilt in Benin. They will ask u to send all the money 4 repair.

During December, i was trying to follow up so i can make money for the Christmas rush, i suspend my agreement of weekly rent, lets go into a different sharing formula, driver and park take 2 seats money, agbero half seat.

early morning i join them in jibowu, delta line to load, the driver still try to fool me, how much ticket was sold, i have to go through the window to ask a passenger, how much she bought her ticket.

That same day he called me tire bust in Benin this and that, my broda that money i was happy i made for Christmas was collected back.

Thought NL uber drivers are the problems.

I connect both drivers here on nairaland. They were posting regularly about Sienna between 2016/2017.

See i have been in transport business since 2014, started with golf 3 on ogudu road, then join uber 2016, drove uber for 2months, b4 i decide to settle with investing with uber.

I started with uber when rent was 40k above, and I'm still here.

Gentlelife50 has worked under me in 2018 when he newly joined uber without knowing he was working 4 me.

Felicity0001 has applied to drive 4 me, via uber fleet match after filling my form, i make my research and discovered who he was then i start doing him turn turn, until he become frustrated.

Godswill10 if u know that business that raise u 2million to buy Sienna, dedicate more to it.

There is no such thing as side hustle in transport business, transport business is more like snake eat snake, most drivers are vampires, looking 4 who they will destroy to enrich themselves.

Anybody in transport as side hustle will not succeed.

Experience is the key.

I have change a Corolla gearbox because it doesn't enter revise not knowing it's Wiring problem. Kazeem cannot discover it, English speaking mechanic also condemn the gear.

But my ladipo rewire gave me the solution.

In this transport business understanding repairs is one of the key to success.

Transport business is still one of the best passive income earner in our economy today.

There is a difference in being a car owner and being a transporter.

I don't know what your aims are or how u device to achieve it, people are making it and if you are not then u need to have a re approachment.

You were on here the other day and claiming drivers can't get a car here and how impossible it is to start a partnership.

I just got a car to manage right on this forum last week and another one about to be signed, all from here.

You really need to quit the negativity and look out more for the benefits.

A lot of things can cause the vibration.

Wheel balancing
Defective disks
Weak Balljoint/tie rod
Bad tires...

When last did you do tire rotation?

Transport business is a good business. I have neve said transport business is not a good business.

I have been doing it since 2014. All I'm doing is to share my experience with people, so they won't make the same mistake i have made in the past.

I understand u manage cars and want people to invest. But u have to tell them the truth. Tell them the challenges, tell them they might loose their money also.

Everybody knows in transport business, vampires are everywhere, starting from drivers to mechanics, including managers.
