The reality is, with the settings of governance then, Igbos thought they will rule Nigeria forever.

The initial setup was actually designed to favor Igbos.
Modified:
Azikiwe (an igbo man) stood against secession by any tribe even when leaders from other tribes wanted it in the constitution.

Azikiwe teamed up with the north instead of Awolowo because he thought they can be easily manipulated.

Ojukwu (another Igbo man)foiled Adaka Boro attempt to secede and ensured he was jailed.

Aguiyi Ironsi (also Igbo) returned the country back to unitary system.

But when they realized that the political system was no longer in their favor, and their soldiers were relegated in the Nigerian army, they wanted to secede and take other minorities along with them in Biafra.

What do we call thathuh
U are distorting history.

They are still calling Ironsi's name, a man who ruled for only 6 months. They have been ruling since 1966 and did far worse than Ironsi.

During Ironsi's time, there were 4 Regions, there was resource control and there was fiscal federalism

All 3 disappeared under those who took over from Ironsi, yet they are still calling Ironsi despite the fact that they 1000 times worse than him
That's a black man curse.. They love chasing shadows

Just picture a country where Awolowo refused to endorse state creation by Gowon and insisted on regionalism. Where south West supported whole heartedly confederation as proposed by Ojukwu at Aburi which is far better than regionalism and make it a whole lot easier for each region to go their separate ways because they have acquired loose autonomy.

I wish the men from the west had the balls in 1966,
They had the balls. They kicked your sorry Igbo asses back to wherever backwoods your ragtag Igbo cowboys came from at Ore.

What were they planning to do ?
How would they have shared resources as they were the poorest region in Nigeria then
You are a typical Nigerian with hole in the brain. If eastern region was the poorest in Nigeria one wonders why the richest regions insisted the region should be part of Nigeria. Please blame your forbearers for your lack of proper education.
