The 14 lost their seats already. INEC has not conducted elections because they (14) went to court to challenge the declaration of their seats vacant.
They did not go for inauguration and were asking for a new declaration which the governor refused to give. they went to court to challenge the declaration and lost. instead of resuming they went to Abuja. Now they are relying on the same declaration to be sworn in after they lost their seats. Unfortunately, you cannot eat your cake and have it.

Stop making an invalid conclusive statement. How have they lost their seat already if they are in court according to u? So u are in the head of d Judges from high court to Supreme Court to know what d Judgement will be?

Court have already ruled on Ndume, Omo Agee case, that house leaders cannot suspend representative elected by people. That is the closest precedent available.

The case of Edo state, is a challenged inauguration. It is a novel case. The court have not ruled on their right to refuse swearing in from a speaker they believe was illegally inaugurated in d middle of the Night!

There is no law or precedent that says you lost your seat because you refuse to go for swearing in within a specific period of time. Nigeria constitution have no law handling it. And no court have declared thier seat vacant.

Obaseki only got court order stopping him from doing a second declaration. The issue of seat being vacant or not was not part of the court order.

As long as there is no law that put time limit to be sworn in, the argument that their seat is vacant is lame except a court make such categorical statements at level of Supreme Court. because high Court will be appealed if such declaration is made.

This Speaker didn’t know what he’s saying. You can’t declare vacant seat of someone who is yet to be sworn in.
Also it is the duty of the House Clerk or Deputy clerk to swear in members elect.
As it stands now there are 5 PDP members in the house.

Both you, the Governor and the Speaker are not saying the truth. The Governors proclamation is done once in any assembly tenure. The speaker can’t just wake up one day and declare seat of those that have not been sworn in vacant.

The law is specific,the governor can only inaugurate the Assembly once .what the Legislooters could have done go and allow the inaugurated speaker swear you in,then with your numbers impeach him and take over
