Black soldier fly differs from common house flies.bsf lays between 500 to 700 eggs per clutch. These eggs, all things beingequal hatch after 2-4 days.

BSF FLIES dont lay eggs in a dirt or waste like house flies but lay their eggs at a height close to the waste , so on hatching the larva will fall into the waste and start its life as a young maggot.

Below is my young larva feasting on cuccumber...

Over ten days bsf larva feasting on rotten banana and cucumbers..

Below are BSF PRE PUPA , WHICH will SOON TURN INTO adult bsf..

I will over the course of some days build a mini house for the bsf ..my goal is to cut birds feed consumption to 50% using bsf larva..welcome as we make this journey together..

Very cheap protein source for birds and fishes ..broilers can be raised using the bsf..it is already a multi million dollar investments in some nations.broilers rush the larva more than feed..

30 days or less , it all depends on what u are feeding them..wastes from kitchen are superb..

I said am still putting up the structure.where I will have the pupa turn into bsf, and the cycle continues..
My location is anambra

Pupa hatched into flies but not laying eggs yet..
