BENIN CITY – A coalition of various trade unions and artisans in Edo State Monday stormed the Edo State Government House to give their support to the second term bid of Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu ahead of the September 19th governorship election.

They said their support was because of the progress the administration has achieved in the state in the last three and a half years and that the governor reduced the cost of shops when they cried out on the high amount they were paying.

Chairman of the artisans, Collins Ohis said “these are the coalition of traders and artisans in Edo state. As you see them they are over 37 associations represented today by their chairmen each. Your Excellency, we thank you for the peace and progress the traders enjoy, and we here promise you that we will work with you to achieve your reelection bid.”

On his part, the President of the traders and the leader of the coalition Pa G.O Ojo expressed gratitude to the Edo State Government for their commitment to humanity. His words “You have created an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the state. The delay of the host community is what is dragging the construction of the standard market as pleaded by the traders association because the government has granted C of O already.”

He maintained that “Since the inception of Governor Obaseki’s administration, the traders have enjoyed smooth running in their businesses as abgeros no longer harass them like they do before, hence the decision to work with the governor.

We are not politicians, but we appreciate good leadership and that is why we are here today to say wherever you are, we will go,” they insisted. This group you are seeing today is the engine room of voters in Edo South.”

Someone who couldn't work on sweet Lara after wasting billions on her thinks it's business as usual from Lagos.
After the dust must have settled & Obaseki out victorious,he will then be aware of the wolves from the sheep especially those yeye house of assembly members who betrayed him

None of the candidates have really come out with any tangible agenda other than to attack the character of his opponent.

When we say Obaseki is the people’s Governor, these Lagos commentators & paid online trolls keep coming to spew unrealistic & phantom comments to console themselves.

Obaseki keeps getting massive support and endorsements from common working folks & the ordinary man cos his policies has affected them them most positively.

We are on ground & believe us when we say Edo no be Lagos. Come September, many will be shocked! The result won’t even be close, Obaseki is going to win by a very wide margin!

God bless Edo State & continue to save us from thieves, professional politicians & desperate power mongers.

with or without rigging obaseki will win with the way his popularity keep soaring everyday because i believe you can not rig election where you are not popular

Well it is unfortunate to say the traders and artisans are on the wrong side of history, they just want to collect their own share or the free money Obaseki was sharing to the tax collectors party, all their efforts is in futility, Kano, Osun and Imo should be lessons to the daft.

Yes they have but let inec APC just count the votes, let APC electoral tribunal judge by the masses responses in voting,let there not be inconclusive results,let APC security agents stand afar n let the masses decide

even though the endorsement is good but Obaseki should not carried away because apc has never conducted a free and fair election.

He should be battle ready just like Wike.
