If you applied from Nigeria, send to Kenya visa office.
Also cross check you filled out the form correctly

You probably didn't fill in your full name as it is on file (on your passport) when you submitted the web form. I left out my middle name when i filled the webform. Turns out if there is any discrepancy from the name they have on file for you (if the enquirer is the applicant), they don't deal with your enquiry.
So i just went back filled another form with my name as it on my passport and they responded back within two days.

Your international student advisor, someone that will likely process your refund, advise you not to register without study permit and they are saying you should do otherwise. Maybe you don’t know, most international student advisor are also registered, trained, and certified immigration consultant. They know that visa officers have power to decide applicants fate, they can be very unpredictable, and there is little or nothing you can do about it.

If your school says they will not refund after registration of classes, you are own your own if you pay your tuition and register. They will gladly read out the rules to you if you later ask for it. You won’t be the first to loose your money to them.

Also, you should ask your advisor because study permit is usually required for disbursement of scholarship. Admission or AIP does not guarantee scholarship. If you don’t get your study permit, you loose your money, your scholarship, and your seat. I hope you have the emotional and financial strength for this risk if you decide to register with AIP.

Also, in exceptional circumstances when you cant perform your role, like in a RA/TA scholarship, you are likely to loose the scholarship. I don’t know your program and tuition cost, but the fact that you needed to make tuition deposit despite having scholarship and entrance award is also a yellow flag for me.

Perhaps the scholarship rules are changing because they can’t guarantee people’s performance with online classes and not in Canada. Oyinbo Dey serious that business na business. They will let you go, AKA fire you, if you can’t perform your duties to their satisfaction.

U are only gambling with 6kCAD which is not bad enough to risk. Life is a risk itself. If you decide to reapply, u might not have the opportunity of those scholarship. In any decision u take, May Almighty God direct u step

To be sincere with you, I don’t know how it will play out. I just know that only study permit guarantees your coming to Canada. Therefore, I would not pay tuition and register if I don’t have that and don’t want to loose the tuition paid. If I am paying zero tuition, I will definitely register even without AIP.

I think medical request was not the sign for approval until recently. Considering the game has changed, I don’t know the potential outcome. We can only learn from the first set of applicants that play by the new rule. We, previous applicants that know a bit of history here, are careful observing the new approach. It is fascinating, but we advise people not to take on too much risk especially with their tuition.

Funny enough, i wanted to drop this post few weeks earlier but it has not been easy balancing work, personal life and family, it has been draining and exhausting at the same time but all the same, i thank God. @Osemigho, longest time to you bro .

An important info: If you are currently in Canada and interested in a Work from home Customer Service Representative/Technical Support position, i know of a company that is currently hiring for multiple positions across Canada and they are 90% responsive employer, if interested please send me a PM stating your province and state.

Secondly, please guys brace up and start improving your skills. Studying in Canada is nothing compared to the big struggle which is the labour market, anyone that says getting a professional job is easy is just deceiving you, Canadian employers value skill sets more than your qualifications infact 0.1/1000 would ask for your certificate before hiring you, what they are after is what you have to offer the company in terms of skill sets. I am not trying to scare anyone here but i want you all to think beyond just coming to Canada to study but what lies ahead of you after study. This is a topic that no one talks about and as you are waiting for your approval response from CIC or preparing to travel, start improving both your soft, interview and technical skills.

Before you graduate, start networking with experienced professionals in your field, i cant emphasize this enough, ask questions and dont get tired of doing so, information is power in Canada and a person who doesn't seek for it will be left in the dark. Know the required certifications in your field, begin the journey before you graduate and make sure you get the most out of it. Let me sight an example. My younger brother just graduated in April, he did his masters in cyber security (am sure some people know him on this platform), this guy had studied his field and labour market to know the hot cake certifications he needed to get although they are quite expensive but he was working per time just to raise money to write those exams, he now has the following certifications before grad. for the benefit of anyone who might be interested: Security+ over $450CAD, CCNA over $450CAD, ITILA4 Over $400CAD, AWS SAA over $200CAD. (Although i have no idea of what all this means cos its not my field lol) This guy in question got multiple offers 2 months to his graduation (last feb) and all these companies were ready to wait till he graduate, he picked one and declined the other offers and the pay is crazy. Anyone who knows the trend would testify to the fact that Medical line and IT are hot cake field in Canada. He is currently working on another certification which is targeting a bigger position in IT banking sector and he recently got a new offer with TD bank with mouth watering pay and benefits.

The morale of this story is, he looked beyond just studying and prepared for life after school, he took the pain to invest in himself now he is reaping the reward. And one of the issues i noticed among we Nigerians is we dont always want to spend money to invest in ourselves if you are bringing that mentality of course, you are totally wrong. Do not wait till the last minutes as a student before you start moulding your life, the struggles start immediate you resume school, open your eyes and ears wide please and dont dull yourself.

Remember you are coming to compete with millions of Canadians and intelligent immigrants in the job market, even to get a minimum wage job, you must be sound, intelligent and outspoken, qualifications is garbage in Canada in fact the minimum educational requirements for most managerial/top positions is college degree and at most Bsc. This was why i stated in one of my previous post that pHD degree is a disadvantage in Canada. Dont misquote me please, am not discouraging anyone not to pursue your pHD dream, the choice is yours and it is totally fine if you are using pHD stream to migrate to Canada. if you have passion for pHD, please go for it but if you are in the category of people who has a Naija mentality thinking getting a pHD degree would increase their chances of getting a field job, sorry would be your case because you will end up been overqualified for most positions. Before completing my masters degree, there were 3 pHD students and 2 masters students that were wrapping up in my research group, my supervisor recommended them for some job positions in the industry but unfortunately the masters students were hired while the PHD students were not hired, they were told they are overqualified for the position. Few years back, i applied for my current job with my masters degree appearing on my resume and i didn't even get a green light, the following year, the same company posted the same job, i deleted my masters degree and reapplied and got an interview request the following day and BAM! i landed the job. That is just to give you an idea of how things are running here so if you are planning to stay and work permanently in Canada, don't be too carried away by acquiring degrees because it will end up been useless but your skill sets + Certifications can take you to places.

I also read some people are saying your profile is very strong. I would like to point out to you that you have a reg flag that VOs have used to reject people in the past. You have a PhD and going to Msc. This is big one for purpose of visit. The better alternative would be a postdoctoral fellowship.

Online classes can't change it cos I have signed the agreement letter as the project can be done remotely. $6,000 award is for tuition, $3,000 per semester. They have already added the money to my account on school portal. However, I have to pay the balance of the tuition which I have also paid part, $6,100. Hence, I have to pay remaining balance b4 I register for courses. Total tuition for 2 years is $35,700 but $12,000 for 1st semester.

I will definitely follow the advisor advice. Request for refund by mid of September if I am unable to get full study permit. I can't be a scapegoat ooo.

I would guess you want to use the study route to come to Canada. You have a PhD. You have other options.

1. Express entry. Google and read on it. When you get to Canada, you might go for a Bsc rather than Msc. Generally, Bsc and diploma gives you more job opportunities here in Canada than masters but visa officers will not give you student visa for it. Schools will not tell you that too because they need the bright minds to run their labs as cheap labor.

2. Postdoctoral fellowship. You will likely get a work permit for this. Talk to your supervisor about it. If he likes you, he might turn your RA to postdoctoral fellowship or get it for you. it is possible if he wants to do it. You may get a work visa with a full time RA position too but they will likely not offer you this. Why? because, once again, they need cheap labor.

3. Work permit for IT persons. This is a special program by the government. Google and read it.

Do you think this approach can convince the VO and sufficiently answer the question around my insufficient fund status? What do you advise as a wayout in this situation of mine? My sister has gotten almost all of this documents and all that. she intend to apply for visa this month. but there is a issue we are facing. our elder sister wants to stand as a co sponsor she has a land and a house documents but the statement of account is not good. my sister applying has her own personal savings she wants to use for tuition and all that. but the major issue here is the sponsor with the big statement of account. please how can we go about it and what help can this great house render to us. we are really close to the gate only just this one is left. please kindly tell us what we can do or help. thanks alot.

I have been on this thread for some time and I have observed most of your prophecies in regards to Canada student visa and almost all of your prophecies come to pass. As a matter of fact, I keep wondering who's your Intel.

I could remember the last one you said was come August, this thread will be rain with approval and of which almost everyone that applied for fall 2020 admission got approval even though it is "approval in principle" but still it's an approval

Now to do subject of the final approval, a word is enough for the wise as they say. If people feel AIP guarantee second approval, only time will tell and the time is almost here. All fingers crossed.

I'm not a soothsayer bro , I'm practically advising applicants on this platform based on my precious gem of experiences and value oriented views on the probable steps to be made by IRCC. I have done my part to advice people on this window to never begin their studies online until they have received the final verdict from IRCC. However, some others felt that I'm trying to quench them from showing great happiness about the AIP letters and were urging students to pay and register for their classes without a study permit. Hence why I terminated the debate so that applicants can take the decison that is best suited for them. I'll be here to see how things unfolds, and it's my prayer it works favourably for everyone.

I think you have to send the slip you got from the hospital by Webform. I did mine prior to applying so I attached the slip to the attachment.

Go ahead and apply with a co sponsor.

State that you have set aside xxxx amount for his first year of study and you will continue to support him for subsequent years

Co sponsor will state her relationship to ur son and also state that she will support him for the first year with Bleep amount and continue to be jointly responsible for him with his father for the remaining years.

Make sure the amount you both state for the first year will collectively and sufficiently cover his first year tuition plus first year living expenses.

Then attach you and the co sponsor employment or business docs payslips bank statements assets, to show where monies will be coming from and also show that amount you said u have set aside for the first year.

Let his mum dad and siblings form part of his hometies.
