I have said it many times, the SE vote is the most inconsequential regional vote in the Nigerian political space. Giving it undeserved importance is a major reason Atiku lost in 2019.

it's very simple: SE will vote PDP come rain come sunshine, they are the most tribal in terms of politics, Since independence, they've always voted for the ibo party whichever party fits the label. Therefore APC trying to woo them is a waste of time because they will still vote PDP and PDP giving them a slot is also a waste of time because they have no other party to vote for, If Atiku had given the VP slot to the SW, PDP may have had a better chance though i suspect he might still have lost but he would have dented APC votes in the SW and the race would have been closer. I lost any reminant regard for Atiku when he picked Obi because it showed me the man lacks strategic or tactical nous. No votes were gained by that action and the whole idea behind who you select as running mate is for him to help gather votes in areas you didnt already have penetration / gain votes from your opponent in areas where you are weak.

APC in 2023 will either be 1) North +SW/SS or 2) SS/SW + North. PDP's response should be a combination of North and SW or SS to stand any realistic hope, any combo with SE on the ticket is dead on arrival!!

Personally I believe Amaechi/north VP is a landslide for APC. It's good liveable compromise for North, SW and SS

Even your elders are backing Ndigbo for 2023, the north surely knows they are not getting support of the Igbo for 2023, hence the need to lobby the south west. I am very sure Mimiko will reject that ticket to be VP watch and see. 2023 is a moving train for Ndigbo, goodluck to Tambuwal and Atiku. That useless Agagu that poured concrete in one small street in my area and it was filled and ended up on state owned tv and they said under construction few months before the election he lost to Mimiko, that road was left like that till today.

Useless agagu worse ever governor. But the only areas I would commend him are some of the roads and construction he did in Ilaje is place of origin. He left other LGAs.

Mimiko really tried and there is no place in ondo state you he has no completed projects including roads but everything is a shadow of itself under Akeredolu.

To be clear (as clearly you dont know your history) the APC you see today is almagamation of ACN, CPC, ANPP and new PDP. The new PDP rebels including % PDp sitting governors, that moved to APC were led by Amaechi. Amaechi was DG of the Buhari campaign in 2015 and 2019.

In any event if you read what i wrote, I said it is an unassailable combo. it's about what combo will definitely win, whether you think it is justified or earned is a different matter and a matter of opinion. You can say Tinubu deserves presidency for his contribution to APC but even I as a yoruba man have a problem voting for him in good conscience.

Politics is about getting votes, I simply gave my opinion on a combo that will get the most votes and unassailable by PDP. A SS/Northern APC combo will get Northern votes, SW votes and steal SS votes from PDP.

Politics is about presenting candidates who can win. I'm not saying a Sw/North ticket will not win< I'm simply saying IMHO that a SS/North ticket is a slam dunk and when it comes to SS in APC, Amaechi is no1.
