D4donnn:U are still showcasing ur ignorance.... so in ur mind, zidane sabotaged the final against italy so that henry wudnt b a WC winner ... so u dont even know that henry was France top scorer at the 98 WC... besides zidane won the golden ball at that 06 WC ...he was better than henry and wud hv been the first man to win 4 balon dor if not for what happened that day... Messi definitely dont owe anyone anything but when his fans comes out to claim the greatest , that's when we gonna hv a problem... just imagine if Ronaldo was still in man u and had beaten Shearer's goal record and had won multiple league titles but had not win anything for Portugal and stopped appearing in the CL final after Scholes and Giggs retired but still claims only league titles and top scorer in the EPL but a messi joins liverpool from barca after winning la Liga titles and CL title ...comes to liverpool and set new goal records with an average of one goal per game, win bk to bk to bk CL titles with liverpool, with 6 yr straight top scorer at the CL , wins copa america with Argentina that had previously never won an international trophy... wins EPL titles with liverpool and balon dors with liverpool and then joins Juventus, turns top scorer wins league titles and ronaldo fans will say ronaldo is the greatest and is better that pele and maradona ...wudnt they sound as crazy?? If he wanna spend his whole career at barca there is no problem with that ... xavi , iniesta , totti , maldini , giggs , Scholes, gert muller, Gerrard, di stefano , cruyff all did it but non claims to b the greatest of all time.... |

D4donnn: ...temper temper.... when messi fans face the truth , they become aggressive ... u compared messi with pele saying pele played with weak defenders ... so what makes u think the defenders these days are weak , or did u play during both generations... strikers are even being protected these days compared to back then... hardly will u see players going on long injury holidays like back then... if messi played football during the Maradona / van basten de lima days ...he wud hv retired years ago due to injuries... how dare u go to the Italian league and try to dribble everyone or score lots of goals those days ... Messis la Liga protection will end once he joins another league and he knows this... flying tackles will await him and if he expects free kicks, he will watch the red wave play on... messi needs highly gifted technical players in a team to thrive ...ronaldo dont need that... Ur example of pele playing for Malawi is flawed cos messi is not in the category of weah, shevchenko and giggs and had weak national team despite being world class players... messi plays for one of the most reputable teams in football... only Germany, Italy and brazil have bettered Argentinas world cup victories ... Argentina has produced world class players compared to Portugal |

Beverlyjean:Oga at no point did I say this thread was meant for the greatest player . Secondly you used the fact that zidane won the world cup and henry didn't whilst having better stats as a yardstick to beat him . |

D4donnn:Messi has been I the national team for 14 yrs... over the years midfield players like di Maria, taglafico of ajax that's wanted by man u and man city, otamendi , lo Celso and de Paul will make the first team of these countries u mentioned |

D4donnn:Who has taken Argentina to the finals? Argentina carried Messi to the WC final ask MARCOS ROJO. Messi did not score or assist a goal from the round16 to the final. |

Rabehdo7:I'm done with this argument , like I asked y'all likened the Argentine squad to world beaters my simple question is how many of their midfielders would start for Germany, France, England, Brazil , Belgium etc. |

Beverlyjean:peak taglafico will not start for any top country in the world and you know the truth , the dimaria you made mention of though he occupies a midfield position plays more like an attacker for then a winger of sorts , I believe he's played in more games as a winger than an actual midfielder n |

Beverlyjean:sorry when FIFA mentions best of all times only Messi is put in that bracket with maradona and Pele only Ronaldo fans mention him there |

Beverlyjean:. Oga you can claim greatest by staying in one club as far as it is the same sport that is being played.. When you graduate as overall best student what matters is the CGPA not if you are the student who passed every course.. You can pass every course and and have 4.5 and I pass all course and have E in 1 and have a CGPA of 4.8 oga I am the best graduating student in that class. That is how it is everywhere in the world.. There is no place where this your system is used to determine the best.. Simple compare what Messi has done where he found himself to what Ronaldo did where ever he found himself.. Who ever comes out top is better. Simple and short.. There is no criteria as playing in different leagues Asa standard for choosing the best.. And no matter how many times you repeat it.. It will never be a criteria.. |

D4donnn:Taken where? Do you think Messi do all the works? Abeggi, football na contribution oh! Those players who excel in England from Spain are players who occupy the front row(strikers). Aguero is a strikers supported by a lot of world class midfield players. |

D4donnn:Gbamsolutely! Most of these ppl saying Messi this, Messi that are ppl who hate Barcelona cos their various teams got completely destroyed by Barca's tiki taka style with Messi at the helm of it. Like the OP rightly said.... Get a life y'all! ![]() |

Imagine what Mascerano is saying... I was reading football news on Footy Area, and I saw that former Barca defender said because Messi is playing for Barcelona, they would win. Read the story on Footy Area, you will just laugh...
