It's just testament to how mediocre we've been over the years, we never had Viking in the club when we were the best in d world by far, Xavi and Iniesta ran, created chances and dominated any midfield in the world, the run you bastards phrase started with Pep and it transcends through the whole team. Puig and Dejong can give exactly that if given the chance, coaching deficiencies and tactics ineptitude is what makes a player like Vidal indispensable.
He's a good player no doubt and offers something different but he shouldn't be starting big games for Barça

Simeone is great but hes too rigid, he should have been more attack minded by now, the defensive structure is there already, Phil Jones can play in that ATM team and automatically look like Prime Terry. Dunno why that team can't just open up and play

Doesn't matter.

The salient point here is that certain players where rejected from their old clubs and turned out to excel at other clubs.

A few players also have been better at 30 to 32 than in their 20's.

Don't get me wrong anyway; the only midfielders that deserve starting berth ahead of Vidal are Busquets, De Jong and Puig.

But we don't have Xavi and Iniesta no more; we can't keep possessions as we used to.

Like you said Vidal offers a different approach with his pressing and getting into goal scoring positions.

Lol, we played 8 CL semis and 2 final's during Pep's reign, Keita didn't start one game, not one.
Pep met Fernandinho at City and he does the dirty work while flanked with 2 creative players in the midfield.
Vidal offers something we don't have no doubt but he shouldn't be starting.

On current form, i prefer Vidal ahead all these players you mentioned. They were our weakest performers against Napoli. A Vidal will not hide away when the going gets tough unlike those weak minded lots especially Alba. He was one of the major culprit in the Liverpool nightmare last season.

Lolz. It won't. We will play SF on wednesday. Bayern are exiting the competition tonight. This season we have been hampered seriously by injuries but tonight, we have almost a complete squad expect Umtiti. So, I expect a Barcelona progression.

Vidal is starting because we don't have a choice..

We all remember that he wasn't starting when the season began; when we had options with Arthur, Busquets, De Jong, Roberto and Rakitic.

But now only De Jong and Busi are ahead of him in the pecking order.

Puig has been wonderful. Puig has one more season to mature and gain more experience.
No big time coach will play Puig in a Champions league final or semi final today.

It is a match. If we prove ourselves better than Bayern, by defending better and taking the chances we created, then we will definitely go through. If we fail to reach the expected level, then we are heading out. I am glad the players know what's as stake here. One mistake and we will be punished.
