There seems to be this belief that OP's tales cannot be critiqued or objected whereas this isn't the diary section where only the poster is allowed to post. The reality is: not everyone will agree with what OP writes no matter how coherent he writes. People will always have divergent opinions especially if they believe their experiences need to be aired to counter what they read. As long as these opinions are logical, coherent and free of insults, there's no point hiding posts or banning moniker because they disagreed with the OP. If OP doesn't want divergent opinions on a free-to-comment thread, it's best the thread gets moved to a section where only his posts will be allowed.

Funny enough, people who believe OP's posts should be the alpha and omega (note: on a free-to-comment thread) are those who claim to promote free speech, liberal opinions and diversity. However, in reality just like we've witnessed, they practice what they don't preach while preaching what they don't practice.

False allegation like this is one of the reasons i hardly take some of you seriously here. If you have no clue why i hide or ban ID here ask rather than making some ignorant comment.

I have made it clear here that people are allowed to disagree with the OP as long as its done politely but for some reasons people like you will turn up to make false allegations.

There’s a difference between disagreeing with someone and hating. If you’re so miserable that u have to read 83 pages of the thread just to find something to critique then u are a hater. There are some things he wrote that I don’t agree with but it is HIS experience. Not yours and not mine. Why don’t they open their own thread to write their own experience?? Everybody wants to be Wole Soyinka on Nairaland. How can u argue with someone’s personal experience and force your opinion down their throat??

Any more of this here again you will be banned.

You are questioning how he came to the conclusion that Germans don’t visit their parents, then YOU came to the conclusion that Germans don’t like him or anybody that does not speak Deutsch properly. You see how some of u shoot ur selves in the leg? Who told u told you that Germans don’t like people who can’t speak German properly?? So which means Germans hate almost every foreigner in Germany?? But they still offer jobs to people who don’t even speak German. Make it make sense??

You are correct, I agree with you. I used my posts as a teaching moment for the OP. I addressed most of his unfounded misconceptions. I wish they were left at least so the OP and others who think like him will learn. Unfortunately, he will not have the opportunity to learn now. If you do not want to derail your thread, post only what you know and stick to your own topic. No blanket statements. Otherwise, expect rebuttals.

Open another thread.

Tiltle it, “ addressing the misconceptions in Danielhouston’s post”.

I bet you, people will read. However, for now, leave this post for those who find it entertaining.

Coming from someone who also made blanket statements. SMH.

@Bittertruth I have read all your comments on every German thread, I don't know who you are, but please, there are ways to critic people. The OP may have his flaws and say things that you may not like or maybe be false, instead of coming here to castigate and attack his personality, you can be nice with words and correct him appropriately, after all, you call yourself a teacher, you should know better. No need to be judgemental.
NB: I don't know the OP, never met him, we have had our misunderstanding here too, but hey, let's treat each other with respect, the way we would if we were communicating offline.

@All the op has made comments based on his experience, he never said they are laws and is what is obtainable in Germany, as readers, we can question him to clarify any grey area, instead of coming here spewing rebuttals that are open-ended.

@Justwise please don't hide my comment, I just want to pass this across.

Try to find language schools nearby, assuming you stay in Ibadan i could link you up, or Osun state I'll link you up to a school where you'll get to learn it at a cheaper fee

Where in Osun state can I find a good language school?
Specifically German? I would appreciate your help.

I never made blanket statements. Can you point me to any blanket statement I made? I will be happy to clarify. It is you and the OP who made generalized blanket statements. I addressed and dispelled your statements and posts in 2 replies but they were removed. I do not make blanket statements.
Create your own thread and reference this thread, I will be more than happy to engage you there, until then, I will let whatever you type here slide.

The OP also made comments outside his purview of experience which is what drew my attention. Had he just stuck to talking about being black and living in Germany, I would never have commented. I usually just read posts on nairaland and do not comment regularly. However, the OP made a subjective comparison regarding living in Germany and where I live which was full of assumptions and wild conjecture. I will be damned if I have time and don't reply to that. When you make blanket statements which are by nature open ended, you should be ready for rebuttals. One way to avoid this is to stick to what you know. You will derail your own thread by posting about things you do not know.

And u live in US (I suppose) then you’re trying to convince us that US is not as racist as Germany. Meanwhile you don’t live in Germany. So what’s the difference between u and the op? Oh I know, you are trying to force us to accept your opinion. Beat it and move on. Nobody needs that argument. We can all think for ourselves and we have the right to our opinion. Stop trying to attack someone else’s opinion. Even people in Nigeria can see how racist USA is. Open ur own thread and talk about USA there.

Not really, but have seeing comments with such words. Some even have pictures where the word was written, attaching it on nairaland when passing a message across.

For, example, when "edekakun masquerade, na express you dey and make motor, no jam you" started reining on nairaland, I was able to get the meaning and history of the it (About the masquerade and express... heard it happened in one of the southwest state).

But this word, no idea other than it being used as comic word most times.
