Two months is small to grasp the concept of programming and development. At least, six months can give you confidence in the field.

The best way to learn Java is to get a book that explains Java in a simple way. Learning Java comes in two ways : 1. Java Fundamental
2. Core Java

Your focus should be on fundamental then you move to the core part.

What you will learn in the fundamental:
Introduction  to  the  Java  Environment Offers & Deals
Java  Syntax  from  the  Ground  Up Highlights ObjectOriented  Programming  in  Java Settings The  Java  Type  System
Introduction  to  Object Oriented  Design  in  Java Support
Java’s  Approach  to  Memory  and  Concurrency

What you will learn in the core part:
Programming  and  Documentation  Conventions ers & Deals
Working  with  Java  Collections ghlights Handling  Common  Data  Formats ttings
File  Handling  and  I/O
Class loading,  Reflection,  and  Method  Handles Support
Java  Platform  Modules Sign Out
Platform  Tools

The reasons why recommend book(s) are :
1. You learn at your own pace
2. Resource management
3. Teach you the nitty-gritty of software development
4. In depth explanation with great sample project to work on.

Let me now recommend some books that helped me during my learning experience years back.
Beginner's level
1. Head First Java
2. Java in a nutshell
3. Thinking in Java
Intermediate and advance level
1. Effective Java
2. Java: the complete reference (very large book)
2. Head First design pattern

If you are a lazy reader I will then recommend a tutorial on Udemy by Tim (I don't really know his second name) titled Java master class for Software developer

Have fun learning.

why did you switch to Java considering the fact that python is simple and it's really for machine learning?
