Nothing. Messi and Co were just strolling around while a second tier liverpool, with belief and vigour, kept pushing for more goals. Same thing happened against Bayern, Roma, Juventus. Apart from sentiments and emotions, I don't think Messi should still remain after the pending squad clearance. He hasn't offered much to the team when the UCL tide are against the team in the last four years.

It is very convenient to keep blaming the board while most of players including Messi keep churning out incredibly shameful performances after shameful performance in UCL.
