When the source of money isn't genuine. Your best bet is to move it illegally to avoid it being traced back to the source. Its basically shifting illegally obtained money from one country or entity to another.

There are so many stable ways to secretly and privately move money these days. Why would anyone try to smuggle raw cash across borders? Really pathetic that they've lost the whole $890k and even got to spend a year in prison

Oga if u are a legitimate business man u don't need to smuggle cash from country to country. That's why we have the banking systems. You pay all needed charges, proper clearance on SOF with all documentation of recent transaction records, business or corporation clearance, recent bank statements involving the transactions (inflow and outlflow) and tax and ur good to go case closed. Hope its clear now
