Juventus have got rid of Matuidi, Khedira and Higuain in a space of a week. They have already sold Pjanic.

At this rate they are soon going to blame Messi for allowing his team mates go to the dressing room at half time.

Funny thing that is about to happen to Barcelona is that Messi will be begged you stay, they(bartomeu & valverde3.0) will have no other option than to play his friends which are Suarez and Alba(their families are all on vacation with Messi’s) just to please Messi, make him comfortable and stay

Forget all those nonsense talk valverde3.0 was saying about playing youngsters, shebi immediately he signed for Barcelona he was forced to go talk to messi(more like beg), in order for him to stay, there is no way he wouldn’t be forced to make Messi and his friends happy eventually

This is preposterous and pathetic to say the least.

Is football not a team game anymore?

One player carries the goal scoring burden.

Same player carries the play making burden.

Same player should motivate the team before they can perform under pressure.

In practical terms; I love being practical.

At Madrid while Ramos was motivating the team, Ronaldo and Bale were getting crucial semi final and final goals.

At Liverpool while Henderson is motivating the team, Salah and Mane are scoring crucial finals goals.

At Bayern while Neuer or someone is motivating the team, Lewy and Muller are getting crucial finals and semi finals goals.

grin grin

Then at our Barca, our very own Barca, lol.

One man dominates the goal scoring game, same man dominates the play making game,

And the same man should motivate,

if he doesn't motivate then he is a draw back and should leave the club!!!

Frankly I feel like biitch-slapping every single person with that opinion right now.

Fuucck..
I think there's a reason a teams best player is not always their captain. Messi is the GOAT and our captain, our captain. Everyone is to be blamed for the loss, but the leaders are to take responsibility for the loss. The board has taken responsibility, who came out to talk? the coaching staff has taken responsibility, who came out to talk? The players should take responsibility and who do you expect to talk?

Do you know since the loss, Stegen, Pique and Roberto are the only players to apologise to the fans? If you are the shy type or an introvert, why accept a position that would make you talk? As Messi has accepted the role of Captain, he is to take responsibility of the teams loss, that doesn't necessarily mean he is to be blamed for the team's loss. See now, for all your brilliance, you put your team in a pole position to make it to the finals, and in the return leg, you see your teammates shitting on your brilliant display, and you're the captain, you won't talk.

You can shout and motivate and still get trashed, agreed, but let the fans see that, let's loose putting in our best, common!! See the first half of Napoli game na, just see how Messi was all over, pressing, tracking back and all. The pressure of the armband is high, you can't just say you are not the vocal type.
I would advise against selling Messi. We won't be contesting for any silverware a if not for him. You want to rebuild and sell all the 30yrs+ player, including the GOAT, that is currently better that all young stars in the world, and replace with 20-25yr old players, what is this? Fifa? Pes? Instead Messi should help in rebuilding Barcelona with the few years he has left.

Messi went from missing during the game to mute after it.

Who made messi captain self shocked. He speaks with his feet, leadership hasn't been a strong suit of his yet it has affected him.

After 4 consecutive humiliations in Europe, i wont hesitate to say Messi could be part of Barcelona's problem today. We have to move forward from him and build a really competitive team once again. We might even need to strip the captain armband from him, should he choose to stay. His four year captaincy has been a total disaster. It is no coincident that we last tasted true leadership the year before he assumed that throne.
This guy is smart!!!
As in! True barca fans know loyalty to, and progress of the club supersedes all.
Messi tho phenomenal, has a role in Barca's problems.
If it means reducing his preferences and demands to move forward, so be it. I support giving someone else the captain's armband

I think I get Tespidd point now. And he's right.

We need some other person to motivate to win and it really doesn't have to be Messi. But then, if he does, it is another feather to his cap.

As for the Ronaldo part, there were players stepping up for him in the international stage. Fks, he didn't even play in the final.
But what did he do? He was pushing them from the bench. If it was Messi, let me tell what he will do:

Sit and be looking.

Let me remind you, before the final, Ronaldo tried. But he made sure his efforts and that of his team were not in vain. That's a Leader!

If you score, assist, play make etc, well done, but, as long as you're the captain, it's you duty to egg your team on.

Some of us have given practical examples to show that Messi's team mates have not complemented his efforts on the pitch even to a minimal degree.

In fact they have not come close to doing that compared to other big European teams which have at least 3 stars putting in top level performances concurrently.

How the biggest problem you see here remains Messi motivating the team remains a mystery to me.

The numbers are all over the place to prove that this team's reliance on Messi to deliver them game after game after game, remains criminal,

yet all that you could think about is for Messi to motivate them.

In fact if you do pay any attention to international television punditry at all during live games, you will learn that the following;

1.The first line problem of Barca is a criminal dependence on Messi to deliver on the pitch game after game after game....
2. Lack of proper coaching and team management...

The issue of captaincy and motivation or whatever is far from the biggest problem we have.

I still can't come to terms with the fact that a true Barca fan wants Messi out of the club.
That's the reason why I believe that you guys are Madrid fans in disguise.

Abi is it Messi's fat salary? Even if he leaves you still wouldn't get a cut; so what's the point?
Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Taguchi: 11:16am On Aug 22, 2020
In as much as Messi ain't very vocal and it is a limitation on his part as the captain.. let's not pretend that we don't know that our problems stems from managerial ineptitude, gross incompetence and lack of quality from the board, the coaching staff and the players

Different captains motivate differently not always by shouting.. nothing should be more motivating for a player than seeing your captain and world best player.. put in his best shift almost every match.. evading kicks and tackles always trying to get the goals or set team mates up.. starting attacks almost singlehandedly every fvcking time in every fvcking match but no Messi must still play and then still sing and shout at jokers like busi, Griezmann, Suarez, alba, Roberto etc even as captain y'all are asking too much of him

Let's pretend that our problems these past few years are just"low morale" .. let's pretend that the last UCL match we showed character and passion (PSG) that Iniesta was shouting up and down like a mad man.. let's pretend that Messi shouting at Suarez will make him relearn ball control or scoring, or make busi stronger or make Vidal less shiit..

We have deep issues (quality and management) and no amount of shouting can remedy it..

If leo does leave this season (I hope not, yet) y'all will understand what it means to be fvcked

Exactly!
Even if Messi had shouted from minute 1 to 90 minutes, nothing would have stopped them from losing 8:2.

I agree with you on the other problems you talked about.
No one is disputing those. In fact, there might be other problems which do not know of.
However, lack of leadership is one of the problems we have. Maybe, if we solve the other problems, the deficiency in the leadership department would be covered up.

As for those, wanting Messi to leave, they're simply people who think he shouldn't waste his last years on a mediocre team. He deserves better. And they're right.
Others feel Messi is also a problem. Imagine Messi doesn't like you in the team. You own is finished. Imagine Messi and Suarez, ignoring Griezmann in a match countless time. Messi has a say on who should be bought. Rakitic once voiced his frustration on messi's influence in Barca. Other players might not be happy, but, they won't talk

Messi is over worshipped. Yes! Barcelona don't even exalt players to a considerable extent. Imagine if Neymar was pushed to nearly the same light as Messi, do you think he would have left? Barca only see Messi.
Imagine Messi telling a top official that he knows nothing about football. Next week, that same official apologized and said "Messi is right, I know nothing about football". WTF?!
In life the moment you make a person seem indispensable and they know, you'll suffer. That's why Messi can threaten us with exit threats, and the whole board starts shaking.

Yes Messi is the GOAT , but if we're going to move forward, we have to start placing the interest of the club and fans above an individual, whoever it maybe.

Real Madrid let Ronaldo go, Perez bragged about it. People thought they'll die, but guess what, they won la liga ahead of us.

This version sees Messi lamenting the 8-2 defeat to Bayern and mehn, laugh wan scatter my belle. The guy really captured Messi's mannerism and body language in the most hilarious way.

All of you saying Messi is part of Barca’s problem are seriously insane, how is it Mess’s fault that he is being relied onhuhhuh I don’t understand how he can be blamed because 10 grown men on the pitch relies on a single player who gets paid same way they’re being paid to deliver good results for them week in and week out. Seriously something is wrong with you guys or you’re just hateful

Not absolving Messi of any wrongdoing
It is common knowledge that in football that player quality and competence coupled with that of the management team is the recipe for a good team add a little slice of luck and self confidence and voila trophies starts coming....

If you motivate Kwara United with a promise of 10bn, champions league trophy, 77 Virgins and heaven at last,I am willing to bet anything that a club like Bayern or Barca will still trash them 9 out of 10 times regardless of how much the captain shouts

If not every time, almost every time, quality on a football pitch trumps any public speaking skills.

The importance of quality trumps that of public speaking skills. This is football, not stand-up comedy.

You are very smart, that tesppidd guy is an ass licker, I regarded Messi as someone that brought us limelight(or increased the luminosity of our limelight), I regard him as someone that won us 3 UCLs(In the 2006 UCL he wasn't influential) I regard him as the GOAT, but I still regard him as one of the people that brought us to where we are today.

If Messi leaves, it will be tough, but not for long, we'll be back stronger, even if it takes 10 years.
