A Student’s Dilemma

Peter shifts uneasily in his chair, a knot forming in his stomach. His teacher, a woman he respects, has just finished describing how Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution advanced scientific understanding and liberated mankind from superstitious beliefs. Now she has invited her students to express their opinions on this topic.

Peter faces a dilemma. His parents have taught him that God created the earth and all life on it. They say that the Bible’s account of creation is trustworthy and that evolution is simply a theory—one not supported by the evidence. Peter’s teacher and his parents all mean well. But whom should Peter believe?

My Catholic faith is not against the theory of evolution. Lamark, the predecessor or Darwin is a Catholic clergy. Same with Gregor Mendel.

True faith must be compatible with reasoned truth. Religions that have problem accepting the thoery of evolution are dogmatic and antihumane.

Gn 1:11, 12 and 24 is in accord with the theory of evolution if you consider the fact that God didn't create vegetation and animals. The earth and sea "brought them forth"... kind of evolved them. Man being a part of the animal kingdom was among the animals brought forth by earth.

When God said "Let's create man in our own image", common sense tells us the being God created was not man. (man evolved from nature). What God created was instead the human essence, the human soul, for that's the one thing in man that has the likeness of God.

life has no origin, everything exist on account of reactions that always happen in the world. the theories of evolution is part of the viewing and watching of reaction in existence

I don't want to argue with you because from your comment it's obvious you have no deep knowledge either of the Catholic faith or of evolution theory.

But I want to point out one point you are mistaking for people who might be reading your comment and think what you are saying is what the Bible says.

You said that "man evolved from nature." Well, I wouldn't have minded if you said that it's your opinion. It's ridiculous however that you want to back your frivolous claim with the Bible.

The Bible is very direct about how God made Human: “And Jehovah God went on to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living person.” (Genesis 2:7). Very straightforwardly stated. Jehovah God formed man from the "dust of the ground", not from your bogus "nature".
