When it comes to ornamental works, I’ve never seen anyone as good as Donald. Though pricey but his work are outstanding.

You’re adding condescending to your portfolio too.

Is he going to draw his own plan, lay his brick, make his brick, deliver his granite, sand, drill his own borehole, etc?

This is mostly a DIY thread. That you lot have turned it into an advertising nonsense is a crying shame.

And please stop patronizing me, I’ve been here for a while and I’m immune to the smokescreen.

To be honest, I think your Nigeria is kinda different.

I’ve been using automatic gate operator for almost 8 years now, the only maintenance I ever did was to change my battery.

Guess the amount. It’s just 7k!
My gatehouse is just a complete waste.

I use motion sensors too and automatic sprinklers. These things don’t just pack up. Even when they do, just go to Ogunpa market if you’re in Ibadan or Oshodi if you’re in Lagos, those guys can fix anything.

Please I need top notch recommendations for artisans that can handle the following jobs:

1. Plastering
2. POP
3. Window design

I understand our brothers from Republic of Benin are skilled at these tasks. So I wouldn't mind someone from that side.

Please let me mention that I prefer to work directly with the artisans. I do not need middlemen or contractors.

Thank you

Check online for Centurion Automatic Gate Operator. I know it’s everywhere now.
I’m using D5 and it should be around 300k now. I think D5 can carry up to 500kg gate.

I bought 180k about 8 years ago from Nevosys (also a nairalander) but he’s no longer in town.

I never use local gate roller installed by my welder. Nevosys gave me a very good gate roller (imported) which makes the gate operation very smooth.
My 2 year old can easily open the gate without help in manual mode.

There are other add-on modules that can be purchased at extra cost too (GSM module for remote entry, infrared beam etc).

The gate operator has a lot of features that can be set on the onboard controller using the ChronoGuard timer.

I did most of the additional stuffs myself. I just tell my electrician what to do.

The system is pretty simple to operate.

What maintenance do you require for a system that uses DC?

My 12V pump has been working without issues for years.

I still don’t get the maintenance we talk about.

Do I need 24hours light to maintain a DC pump that’s connected to my inverter?

Or do I need 24hours light to run a gate operator running on 650VA UPS battery? The system runs on battery for 3 days without electricity supply mehn.

Sigh!

Mehn, I am learning a lot here. I used to see this automatic gate thing as one complicated matter. I first saw it in my hall of residence in UK as a PG student in 2008.
The smaller one for pedestrian had a sensor that once you are approaching the gate, it would open. The big one had a sensor that recognizes the sensors in the windscreen of incoming cars as only those that were living in the compound are allowed to come into the compound with their cars.

Sensors were given to those big boys students with cars but for visitors cars, the gate would not open for them.

I don’t get it either but you have to consider the audience.

I donated 4 solar street lamps to my association. When it was time to add more they went and bought regular ones and setup an actual light switch on the NEPA pole.

So months later we have new people move into the community and the complaints started that they too want the solar lights in front of their houses instead of the NEPA powered ones that’s almost always in total darkness grin

Me I just read the WhatsApp back and forth smiling.

Technology is out there, people need to read up on it and cuddle it.

Solar light = turns on and off automatically, never needs power from solar.

NEPA street light = need to be turned on and off, doesn’t work without NEPA power.

Upon further research I found out that the complaint was that some artisans working nearby were afraid of the solar and started spreading rumors that the solar uses human blood and destiny to work. Imagine that.

Everything I’m using for my current build is ordered from US even taps.

If it can work over there, it’ll definitely work here.

And for the records, I’ve designed a kitchen for a client here that was supplied by Wickes.

It might not work for all but there are just some people who can’t trade quality for anything.

I’m not in the class of people who’d say AKT is better than Phillips light bulb. Whatever the client wants, I encourage them to get.

Some client doesn't like average things to be installed for then. Nobody can compare PHILIPS, THORN fittings with AKT. there is a BIG different between them . I work for a client in Akure, alagbaka area. All what he used installed is From uk. He even plan to import cables but we made him realised that Nigeria cable is far better than imported cable because of the voltage and frequency we use here.

Those bigger boys were holding less than $30 remote. My NOVA remote is sold 10k pere. You can even set it up for condos.

Even GSM module is just 35k.

Make I chill jare.

I honestly don’t know how some people look at us in Nigeria. We are monkeys abi?

How is the lady discouraging people?
The OP asked a general question and the lady gave her the specific money she spent on her waterlogged foundation that she recently done and you are saying the above?
Dont you know foundation comes in various types based on the soil condition. What did you contributed to the OP's question?

Oga , Your not an engineer and knows nothing about building. Always responding sarcastically when people says there cost . Always believe the cost spent on building esp foundation as cost is variable and all land conditions are not same .Respectable member here gave me a quote of 12.7m to erect from foundation to decking without his professional fee .When I received it , i doubted it and decided to buy all materials by myself and labour as i was feeling his quotation was much but i must confess i hv spent very very closely to that amount to achieve foundation to decking . grin So mind ur language at times as meself no get joy now .
