I discovered in our area that NEPA are not distributing the meters despite of been paid months ago .do you know why the fixed charges are more profitable to them than meter.

There is more than enough meter to go round. The reason people don't have meter is because of those wicked souls at discos.

I also found out that getting meter in the North is easier than getting in the South...

In Lagos, they only allow those with money to get it while those on the mainland are ignored.

if not this country is a fraud, after increasing price of meter from 39,800 to 48,463.17, they still charge 100 for transaction charge which the banks collect! Of which at the end of the day, they will still you it IKEDC that owes the meter and can't be tampered with.

This country, we can never grow cos all we know is how to fraud and extort one another.

When initially I got connected with the BEDC electricity mains, they gave me a bill of between N3,000 and N5,000 per month for 2 months later when they saw that I was paying, it was increased to N7,000 and N8,000 plus per month and later to N20,000 to N38,000 plus per month.
When I tendered a written protest, it was reduced to N3,550 but I continued paying N5,000 per month to offset previous debt.

In June this year, they raised the bill to N11,167 for that month and July bill to N14,052.40.

BEDC Bill me 14k per month for 9 low energy light bulbs, a fan, tv, and a fridge, no borehole.
I complained severally to deaf ears.

This is my latest Bill for July:

worst still a customer that hardly see 8hours of daylight, nor 2hours of nightlight, is being billed 534kw per month upward, for just 8rooms,

Meters should be sold publicly through banks or jumia and registered installer or nepa be called to install it at a price looba pari....,the government self.

It is looking like we have two countries named Nigeria existing at the same time on the same plain if not how can we be having conflicting news report on the same issue. This is getting out of hand. This is way beyond fake news.

I am waiting for the Consumer Protection agency to show more visibility. Gee64 has complained and it appears to be across board.
Seems something happened in June. Tariffs soared. I complained at two IKEDC offices myself. In one of those, I met a Pharmacist also complaining. I verified that no new survey was done, but somehow the tariff had risen.
I was then told that estimation was an outsourced job. Confusing, really.
