Thank you bro for asking the question and I'll try and attempt to answer your good question.

1. HOW BLASPHEMY AFFECTS THE SECURITY OF A STATE(KANO)

Kano has a population of around 10m over 99% of which believe in islam and prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
If the personality of the prophet who's revered and venerated by about 10m of these ppl is desecrated, disparaged or maligned, peoples anger is likely to be aroused and this directly can affect public peace and security. For eg some miscreants may decide to take the law into their own hands and in the process charlatans may seize the opportunity to unleash violence in the state and esp on innocent so called non indigenous groups who had born the brunt of similar mayhem in the past, as thugs cashed in by looting their investments and even desecrating their lives. This is how blasphemy affects the security of a state, Sir.

2. HOW BLASPHEMY AFFECTS THE SECURITY OF A NATION.

When violence sparked by thugs breaks in Kano, these thugs often storm in to Sabon gari, a quarter mostly inhabited by "non-indigines" and start a looting spree, this is regardless of whether these "non-indigines" are involved with the first trigger or not, and start killing innocent people. This is often done by unemployed and happy go lucky thugs who abound in Kano agaonst the wish and judgement of the majority peaceful ppl of Kano who though are the fathers and mothers and sisters and brothers of these thugs lack control over them. As sabin gari and other areas flares up, reprisal attacks elsewhere in other states erupts and the nation suffers for it.
Also people who come to Kano from elsewhere for legitimate biz have their schedules abruptly disrupted and this affects their means of livelihood. This affects their own personal economic and social security which also affects that of the nation. The nation sir is the sum total of the individual parts. This is how blasphemy affects the security of a nation Sir.

God bless you and I hope I have attempted to answer your question Sir.

Bkayyy:
Looking at his first reported speech ; He said, “What happened is so important to the state and to the
security of the state and the nation in general. What the Court did is
absolutely right. And we support it completely. Such kind of
irresponsible act, if not because of the state power, nobody could
know what would happen in the future,” he said.

Can somebody explain to me how "Blasphemy" affect the security of a state or nation in general?

As a Northerner, do you agree with this judgement?

Do you think death should be the portion of anyone that abuse Mohammed (SAW)?

They pretend they have one Nigeria still.

Note u dont need to fight for your God...u want to know why? Cuz he is more powerful than u...imagine a 3months old baby fighting for a 37 year old dad who happens to be a boxer in the market...wisdom is only for the wise

They are not even fighting for God. They are fighting for their prophet mohammed.
If the man that blasphemed against mohammed said the same thing against their allah, he would not have been sentenced to death but would have been given a lighter punishment like say 15 years in prison.
But when it comes to their prophet, they go kamikaze about it.
You wonder if they revere mohammed more than their allah.

It is not a question of whether I agree with it or not. For me it is a question of what islam says. The punishment for blasphemy in islam is nuanced and not stated in the quran. Scholars have differed for centuries over what should be done to a MUSLIM who blasphemes publicly against the prophet. Muslims can take any of the scholarly opinions and still be right depending on the conditions and circumstances and the time and space etc. So if Kano has adopted the scholarly opinion that those (muslims, mark you) who blasphemes should be killed, I who takes a different view cannot condemn them. My mind sides with the other scholars.

Mohammedans are not up to 99% of the population in Kano. That is not true.

Well as soon as I read the person who blaspheme is from an Islamic sect, I stopped reading, why? Because the person is one of them. If Gandoje wants to sign the death penalty when people who don't believe in his religion are involved, then there's a problem, a very big problem at that.
