Jodera:Actually Mitland-Niles was the man of the match. He had the left side of defence/midfield on lockdown and made Sallah silent all game. Ibe never seen Salah that silent in a game, I think camera only focused on Salah twice in the game ; one when he was trying to push attack and the other time when the penalties were being played. |

BlueRayDick:Oh wow! I think I read , was it Roland or Iamonyindamola that said Nelson (maybe from their view) and since the official MOTM is Niles. Then that's great. It means both of them gave at least a 7 rating performance. Niles really have improved very well, starting from the fa cup s/f wen it was evident. Locking down salah(as you opined) is really a great feat, and he's consistently growing in that wing back position of his and making it his own. If he continues like this, I don't mind us keeping him. I want to hear your views, would you still want him sold especially as he's locking down that wingback role excellently? |

Jodera:He's turning out to be a good squad player which is impressive. If it's possible to bring in a decent midfielder without selling him, I will gladly welcome the addition of such players in the mould of Partey and Co. He seem to be a player u can always call upon when u need to tinker with Ur formation/selection. If he can keep up with this above average performances then I will gladly support his staying put.( although this may mean he will keep getting played out of his natural position which I doubt will make him happy) That said, please don't think he didn't one of his occasional rubbish yesterday ó. He did one useless skill yesterday just from nowhere. It was unnecessary and ouf of the blues; just like he had programmed himself that if he doesn't do the skill he will not forgive himself. ![]() But as an individual I always like to focus on the good people do than their wrong doings...He impressed above all yesterday |

shout out to all the Gunners in the house. Hope you are all doing well. Congrats everyone on yesterday's win big boost ahead of the season. Impressed by the shape and discipline of the players. Fitness still needs a little bit of work but i'm happy with the way Arteta has instilled grit and determination in the boys. Quality wise we still need reinforcement in the midfield. Cebellos (if he returns) and El neny look good squad options but we definitely need a main creative spark especially with the current Ozil Situation (really hope someone Mikel and Mesut can resolve issues. DM is also still an issue hopefully Partey can be bought very soon. We also need to find more goal scoring options because it's looking like last season again where our hopes sink or swim depending on if Aubameyang is firing on the day. My expectations for this season based on Arteta's technical ability is that we should be able to challenge for the top 4. However realistically speaking the spuds and Man u have better squads man for man that said with Arteta's guidance i think we can nick the last UCL spot with a bit of good fortune. Europa league i think should be the main target. let's just see how the season pans out. COYG! |

iamoyindamola:It is not as easy as u say. The moment Arteta makes it obvious Martinez gets to keep EPL matches Leno cup matches; believe me Leno will be unsettled and several top clubs will come trying to tempt him with mouthwatering offers and even promise of a starting role. Don't be surprised if a team like Chelsea that is currently facing goalkeeper issues come bidding for him. Trust me he will be tempted to move and damn all consequences |

BlueRayDick:The season is long they both will understand Man u will be having de dea, Henderson and Romero I feel Leno will still start but he will be under pressure because any mistake Martinez will take over |

Jodera:As in.....two very different scenarios. In this case we have two good keepers in their prime. In fact they are age mates ( both born in 1992). It's not like one would retire for the other soon o. Only God knows how Arteta will handle the situation sha |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by BlueRayDick: 8:36pm On Aug 30, 2020 |
iamoyindamola:I'm not saying they won't understand but we are at a risk of losing either of them when offers start coming in because the whole world has seen they are both fantastic keepers. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:41pm On Aug 30, 2020 |
BlueRayDick:The bolded is the key word. Also, Leno is German. Germans don't use their nationality to play. Neuer with time will soon retire and he'll be left with just ter stegen to drag the no 1 spot with. Is it with cup competitions he'll compete MTS? That is what will be going through his mind |
