To me, this whole Ecowas thing isn't working for Nigeria. Maybe we should review the possibility of leaving ECOWAS because Nigeria alone as a market, makes up about 60% of the entire Ecowas market, based on population and by GDP, it's even higher. All these smaller countries have more to gain from us than we have to benefit from them.

Let's really reassess what works for us because this whole West African relationship isn't working well for Nigeria.

yes,the Yahoo boys are there in numbers.in 2014 I ask a Ghanian friend why they were not being arrested and I was told because the then government of mahama claimed the money the Yahoo guys brings into the country help boost the economy, hence his government was not hard on them..So who do you blame here?.

The police is there to deal with such people, you cannot allow them to grow feathers and turn around to claim something different.. While I blem the Yahoo boys I still think Ghana government have their share of the blame.

This is what happens in a country where a large number of youths openly endorse crime and worship criminals!
Crime has become a legitimate means of income in this country, as a matter of fact, they’ve rebranded it from crime to hustle..

We will continue getting this kind humiliation from all over the world until something is done about it..

Okay, so what would you suggest cos to me, if we claim to be under one umbrella and the country that has the biggest share is being ridiculed continuously, then what's the benefit?

Nigeria alone is about 200m while the rest of West Africa (15 countries) make up just about 180 million. That says a lot.

If I close my border to them, knowing fully well that I have the biggest producing and consuming market, then they all would have no choice than to respect me.

There are millions of West Africans in Nigeria, undocumented, working and living in Nigeria without harassment from Police. Instead we fight ourselves, Yoruba vs Igbo vs Hausa... As a country, I think we need to re-analyze what works for us o. There's a reason US doesn't open it's borders to Mexico without a visa, whereas Mexico allows Americans enter cos they know they're coming to spend.

UK is pulling out of the EU cos they are the ones benefitting the least...

The main reason Ghana is behaving like this is because of that rubbish Ghana must go stuff that happened some time ago, they are hurt and haven't forgiven us since for it, we need to meet with them and bury the hatchet, another problem too is the way the FG treats foreigners, with more respect than we the citizens, it's really annoying, they are too afraid to show them whose boss but when they do they go too far. But you see leaving ecowas it would bring unnecessary border issues, remember the bakassi issue that is still haunting us till today.

What is the volume of trade between Nigeria and Ghana ?

Very insignificant, so it makes really no difference if even you have a population of 1 billion .

Even if your country is in the remotest part of the world, if you keep it safe and clean, immigrants will come. How many Ghanaians have ever seen $1m in their lives? But they are making their country habitable enough to start making such demands.

The issue is that Nigeria has failed to improve her infrastructure and make Nigeria sec?ure enough and conducive to habitate. Why would any sane being migrate to Ghana to pay such amount in the first place? With half the amount, you can buy permanent residence through investment in US or Canada. I would be damned if I even pay $1000 for business permit in Ghana.

People are successful in Lagos, Kano, Nnewi, Onicha, Aba, PH and other commercial cities in Nigeria. If Ghana is not conducive, leave Ghana. It is not rocket science. People should stop this nonsense idea like they have no place called home.
