I'm currently undergoing a Software Engineering Training ( Full stack using the MERN STACK ) but due to some challenges which has to do with finance , Accommodation and some unforseen circumstances I've not been able to meet up with the training...but of recent all these has been settledanf sorted out. But I'm kind of lacking behind as regards the training...so to all the tech Guys on the Forum please based on your experience , can I learn JAVASCRIPT in 3 months enough for me to combine it with my HTML , CSS & BOOTSTRAP skill I've already learnt in the training..cos I have a goal of getting an Entry level/Junior level Software Engineering job early next year.

You can learn Javascript in 3 months depending on how fast you can assimilate as well as how good you are with logics, but will need more than that duration to master it. Basic Javascript precisely.

Omo thanks baba...I just need to learn the basic knowledge of JavaScript that would enable get an entry level role at least by next year....I was just wondering if 3 months would be enough for me to learn it and then have a t least 2 SOFTWARES or APPS I can create with it in my portfolio...not minding if the Projects are imperfect

My little tip:
Dedicate the first month to learn the basics, then spend the rest two on practical examples/projects. The more projects you do, the more JavaScript you will learn.

Bros it's really doable. At least to get strong in the basics. What i did was I had a solid JavaScript udemy course. Men the course is so damn detailed. Check the complete JavaScript guide my Maxmillian schwarz. And I also had two books. You don't know js and eloquent JavaScript. Then I used a site to be building projects. Go online and search. JavaScript projects. There's a site that has over 100 JavaScript projects. It starts with simple projects like JavaScript counters to advanced e commerce projects. Once I had built everything there. I went straight into react.

Another way to learn if you dont want to do projects is to go on hackerrank and solve like 100 easy to medium questions using JavaScript. I remember when I used to solve those questions, I got to use so many JavaScript features I ordinarily would never use when building normal apps but I got stuck once I got to the medium section as those questions require you to really know algorithms to solve them. But it's doable bros no fear.

Nah, make it 6 and you'll be good for entry level
Industry standard is at least 1 year

You can learn a language basics in a week or so but the most important thing is how to apply them in real world application or scenerios. To be confortable with a language, it depends on you as well, the way you assimilate things but 6 months will take you to that place you want if you dedicate your time and resources but you keep learning it everyday.

If this is your first time of coming across Javascript, its gonna be hard then. Except you have some idea of other languages, then you can.
I'll also recommend you use video tutorials for speed.

It's actually my 1st time of coming across JavaScript bro...and emm yes I have downloaded some videos to also aid my Learning.

Boss thanks for jumping on this thread!!! I appreciate. I've Studied HTML , CSS and BOOTSTRAP so I just wanna get a job at least early next year so I can take care of pressing needs. So with what you just said ,you mean I can't get an entry level position early next year after studying it from now till the end of this year?

Without knowledge of other programming languages, you can use one to three months, but with such a knowledge, you only need one week.

Okay. I just got admitted into the scheme and I want to know if its really worth the price. How many times do you have classes per week. I read through some of their graduates' profile but seemed like they all had their career going on before going for the program. Bro your on the right track aswear!!! See I joined with no knowledge what so ever....My time Currently at STUTERN is my 1st shot at Programmimg. And see you saying you went through their graduate profile and noticed that they already had their career going isn't Tru meeen!!! Omo maybe you didn't check well ...try check very well... theirs one who read Zoology and tru them he's a Software Engineer ( front end )

i could help with that...

Normally, JS will take months to learn. Most programmers will say that it will take at least 6-9 months to learn basic JavaScript and really be comfortable with it.. Tho thats if you completely novic with any programming language.. Even then, you will still spend years gaining new skills and a deeper understanding of JavaScript, I really think dedication and putting your full time attention on the course can speed up things for you real quick...

With full focus! 4 month can go a long way for you
