That is why this government don't want to permanent Npower like batch A and B,because majority of these batch got the job without knowing anybody.I keep telling people these country must exploit very soon because of unemployment issues and the government is not doing anything to address it.

If there are 100 open slots...
and 10,000 wrote the exam...
but 800 passed,

they will still take only 100 applicants.

If you were hired, will you still believe it is unfair?

Ladies got it easier. Smart ones find ways to get married before 25. The ones in denial about the reality called Nigeria keep living on false hopes until at 30, no decent job and prospect of marriage dwindles exponentially. Then depression sets in bringing more wrinkles to the face. Then they have to compete with those who were 14 and now 20.

Sorry, but I don't believe it was due to connections

What the guy who posted this is implying is that he expects everyone who applied for the job to get the job.

That's not how it works.

Take the recent NNPC recruitment. Apparently those who passed got it via corruption. What those who should corruption don't tell you is.that 45000 people were vying for 6000 jobs.

There was no connection. OP did not get the job because he was not good enough.
kikero:
The article is full of flawed assumptions

Op says that less than 20%of the people interviewed got the job, therefore they used connections

And he offers no proof

Was he expecting government to dash him job?
So ur first comment was made wen the list posted by d Op as evidence was still on here and the second comment was made immediately u noticed some people requested it should be removed so as to protect the names of those in the list and probably a mod or Op himself removed it.

U are one of the main problems of this country!!!! Bleh to u and the people u work for

Everything in this country is through connection and slot. These days people do pay to get jobs. A woman paid #700k for a federal job worth 450k annually . You actually need money to get money

This is sickening... and it is so normalized, not even 1 kobo will go into the state account. Someone close to me applied for a state recruitment after passing all processes was told to bring 1m for a job that will pay about 180 monthly.

I really don't know where we want to start fixing this country. I think it's hopeless.

Very very sad

It's no news that govt jobs are not for merited candidates .Even with your money, you still have to know someone that knows someone that is connected and pay to the right people else you will loose your money and no job.

My dear, this is what we have found ourselves into and there is no remedy unless God in His infinite mercies fights for the poor. Govt jobs are for the children and friends of govt workers. Two year ago ago my son past DPR interview and by crook or omission the merit list was licked and were happy that he will be called but was never, because we did not know pa Abba Kyari, Ahmad, the Senate president who we were told he has become the employment officer nor did we had five hundred thousand for his file to be sent to the people who turn theselves to demigods according to what we were heard. I spoke to so many people who will ordinaryly tell you they know who can move mountaind but nothing happened. I was told to speak with my contituency senator in Delta but he asked who is this one disturbing him then he cut the call. So, be it federal or state they same thing. They will rathan employ pass or fail than employing you that they don't or benefit from. It is time that the youths will stop voting or fighting because of politicians because they have existence at heart. They have No future plan for the poor. God will see all the youths of this Country who does have anybody to fight for them through. Amen.

It's like Every Recruitment under Buhari administration (APC) is nothing but a scam, from customs to Nscdc to INEC recruitment all are inconclusive.

But they can easily recruit police Constables that are ssce and they soldiers too so they can sacrifice them to Boko Haram.

APC = scam

This has nothing to do with APC. This is a reflection of the Nigerian society. This rubbish happens in all states both APC and PDP. Stop making everything about politics.

Who said that written exam is the only criterion for employment in Nigeria? They could be quota system at play as well.

/

This is not a "Nigerian Exam" whatever that means.
It was specifically conducted to employ people into Oyo State Hospital management board.

In this case, 80% of those employed by the corrupt management are less qualified. Yet, some people are surprised that government agencies are often incompetent and stagnant. How can they be ay different when majority of the staff are sourced from the bottom of the rung.

In case you don't know, the quota system employed by the Federal government is not some super secret that are being hidden from the public. They are based on governmental laws or policies.

If five hundred people apply for just twenty spaces at a ministry, do you expect all 500 to be employed?

Be realistic.

FYI, I don't work for the government, and it is not like I don't accept that there is no corruption in government related employment .

No be today my bro. I applied for road safety job in 2011. A date was fixed for screening at mokola barrack,on that day we were asked to run 3km in 15minute,only few of us were able to complete d task.
We were given another date for exam,I expect the few that passed d screening to seat for the exam but I was surprised to see pple who could not run 1km in 3hours showing up for the exam.
I knew that day that I was not going to b selected even if I score 90%

The problems of Nigeria are Nigerians. A simple case study can't be analysed by the so called educated on nairaland. If 1000 people apply for 10 slots, the most transparent thing to do is to count 10 names from the top downward. That will mark the cutoff. Infact 93% can be a cut off mark. If we have many people with the same mark as the cut off, subject them to further examination or interview. This is not rocket science.

Mr Analyst, that's I not how cut off are released. cut off are based on participants scores.

what if all the student score below 60% of total mark, who will be recruited.

and that explains why many schools release their cut of mark after students write jamb exams.

I have heard of a case where dragnet had to reduce their cut off mark to accommodate candidate in a test
