Sometimes when i am all alone, i try to reminisce and soliloquise and meditate. It helps keeps me sane with all this hullabaloo going on in this country. I dont think i have seen Americans this divided, the stakes are extremely high in this year's election. One cant even read news without the liberals and the conservatives at each other's throats. Everywhere it is Trump vs Biden, Fox news vs Cnn, south vs north, red vs blue states and now to cap it all, Mr Covid-19 came in and messed up with people's lives. I am not being political but just expressing my views. It is hard to keep sane when all the favorites hangouts are all closed, fairs are being postponed till next year, people are now grumpier than ever, little things get people irritated. Now back to me, this is when i meditate, thinking of the way forward towards my 25/30 year plan. I know it is not easy but with God, all things are possible.Amen. 12 Likes 1 Share |

If someone ever told me that by 2020, i will be a PR in the US, i would say the person is a descendant of the devil. Yes, i had ambitions to leave Nigeria but how? where? with which resources when i was basically managing my mom's store, and the last kid in the Uni looking up to me. I have always been an advocate of "not gonna have my own kids go through what i went through", they deserve a better life, my mom went through a lot of me and my little ones and she sure deserves to be pampered but how can you pamper your parents when Nigeria is all frustrating your efforts. You have the societal vices alla noose about to choke you and kill you. If you the Federal government doesnt introduce policies to cripple you, your state govt will, sars will, phcn will, mosquitoes will, your landlord will, your so called friends will, your family(extended or nuclear) will. When people say Nigerians deserve automatic place in heaven, i for once say yes. Nigeria will be 60 years and no hope for the youths, how can you say people are the future and no policies to enable the so called "future". 15 Likes 2 Shares |

I can still vividly remember my first week in the US, most nigerians are suffering from PTSD but we do not know. We have been used to the mediocre that it affects our entire functioning system when we travel to a more functioning system. I am someone who sleeps with lights out, most times as the situation in Nigeria, i would wake up in the middle of the night to see power gone and sweating profusely. My brain and system was already used to this. My first week, i would wake up in the middle of the night hoping to see the power gone, i would be disappointed to see the power still on. It was like i was expecting the power to go off so as to cut charges, then in a flash, i will remember i am no more in Nigeria. It took me a long while to get used to see power without no the fear of exorbitant price incoming at month end. Oh and there is the water supply too. The last time i think i saw public water drip out from the tap was 1998/1999? We knew when the water corporation will pump water, everyone always had their containers and buckets ready, We the teens waiting for everyone to leave so we can do our nightly shenanigans with the tap. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

@justwise, please I will like to have this thread locked or if possible deleted. I can tolerate anything but bringing my wife or my family into this is not acceptable. I would appreciate if this is done. Thanks. 2 Likes |
