Enjoy your millitary rule then.

Don't come begging me when you find out how harsh it is five years down the road.

Or you can do it the easy way.....go and join a poltical party, or form one, and work within the system for change.

We have tried millitary rule. And it was just as bad as civillian rule.

Nigerians need change, not quick change, not Buhari change...change.

Good am to you.

Democracy is better than other forms of government because it allows us to correct its own mistakes
Beg you? You must be having delusional grandiosity. Who's asking for military rule? That I debunked your false postulations doesn't mean I'm advocating for anything

Nope. We need people who are interested in tapping into our potentials both human and natural resources to raise much needed capital and also provide a platform for people to trade with other countries and attract investment to the country.
Yes, we need leaders that can generate money by tapping into our resources.

But likewise we need immediate money to build the basic infrastructure. That is where going for loan comes in.

No we don't need mindless loans.

In 1966, we needed a coup. Four years later, we were picking through the ruins of the crisis that coup unleashed.

In 1983, we needed a coup. Up till now we are still dealing with the mess the heroic millitary rulers left us with.

And both army eras were characterised by corruption, corruption

Yes, and democracy is still better than Amry rule.

There are things that Buhari and Obasanjo could not do under democracy that they could do under Army rule.

Plus, inasmuch as I absolutely don't like how our democracy has turned out, at least, I have more freedom than I did under Army rule.

Yes our democracy is not working because we think it is all about voting. It is much more than that.
Democracy is just one of many systems of government.
what about technocracy, noocracy and meritocracy.? in democracy, if idiots are the majority, idiots will be elected.
and in military regime , an idiot can seize power. in monarchy, an imbeciile can become king.
democracy is scam. it can work in society where majority are civilised, they are neither tribesmen nor idiots.

technocracy, noocracy and meritocracy should be advocated for.

Ah, the problem with all those systems is, who decides who is a technocrat or who merits leadership in a meritocracy?

Wait till then ... if politicians do not respect the constitution and right of citizens to chose their leaders, what do you expect?

Edo elections will show if military is still relevant in nigeria political space. I am not a prophet of doom, but I foresee ... people/politicians running into exile.
I see signs of danger, but some political zealots keep cheering the hedonist

Even then, I still stand by my point.

Back in January 1966, people came and were dancing on the streets when Nzeogwu overthrew the corrupt first republic. Four years later, millions were dead, and we had just gone through a brutal civil war.

In 1983, the same thing. We got several years of millitary rule, mostly harsh.

Plus, the soldiers too turned out to be just as corrupt as the polticans.

You want the Amry to take over because you don't know how it was like. IT WAS BAD. very bad.

If you want your democracy to work, do the hard work of making it work.
Which way specifically? Because all the civil ways to effect change in the country is either labelled hate speech or rebellion.
Which way do we go now as an elder?

Says who?
Says the people who expressed it. Be careful what you wish for. By the way, no sane soldier will dare seize power in Nigeria now given what Nigeria went through under the military.
I know one thing for sure, Yoruba will not have any part in it, not anymore.

Under millitary rule ,things would be much worse....

Continue working within the system. Join a party, form one, agitiate for good governance....

All those nice democracies you see....they are the result of people fighting hard , not coups...

Surprisingly it only worked in Ghana via Jerry Rawlings.

But the fact is civilian rule should be the ultimate when it is streamlined and everything working. Unfortunately Nigerian civilian leaders are unbelievably disappointing. Nevertheless I will not subscribe to military intervention though, but civilian intervention via protest and strikes.
Ghana is regreting executing the Generals that Rawlings killed because they have long since discovered that the Politicians in Rawlings party were far more corrupt than the men he executed in 1979 Coup.

Jerry Rawlings is very careful to avoid the Children of the executed Generals (the daughter of one of the dead Generals confronted him in a Church in Chicago while he was Preaching about Family )

They are still till today demanding justice for their fathers who were executed without any trial .

It was discovered that one of the Generals who was Ghana's Chief of Army (Gen Oposu Wellington) who surrendered during the Coup but was still shot dead did not even have a Personal house of his own and lived in the Barracks while the Politicians in Rawlings party including Rawlings Wife later owned many mansions.

Jerry Rawlings has spent the last 20 years explaining to their families and supporters that he was against their execution but the Soldiers and Ghanaians wanted blood which has also proven to be not completely true Ghanaians wanted good Govt and food in their bellies.

Which military? The one Buhari's pocket. Why do you think he held on to them like dear life?

Yes, jungle justice is unacceptable and often regrettable. Was it a civilian government that Jerry overthrown or military one?

Mali Junta told BUHARI categorically that they want 3 years to rule before anything else. That corresponds with the remaining 3 years of BUHARI RULE. That's enough to prepare Buraitai and some of them in the DSS to prepare for the CHAOS.
