There are many alternative but less abused pain killers available to take care of chronic arthritis and other pains.
Besides, in orthopedic hospitals, if the doctor decides to manage a pain episode with tramadol, the 50mg strength can be prescribed in appropriate regimen to treat the pain. The doctor can also decide to administer the drug as an injection. All these can be done in a controlled hospital pharmacy without letting the drug get into the hands of abusers.

Reading just through the headline alone would make you want to scream blue murder, but after reading the article and see where she mentioned that they do go after some shipment of those drugs even in some neighboring countries, you will want to understand that definitely it's really gonna cost some money. Officers have got to travel, lodge, track, maybe for days or weeks, then transport the same container back into the country and all that.

Your first paragraph answered my question and that was my main point. My mum has been having chronic arthritis on her legs for years now and she was placed on tramadol prescription at FMC, surely you can’t claim to know better than the orthopedic specialists there do you? There are levels to pain threshold and thus those higher dosages are sometimes needed..that it gets into the hands of junkies who abuse it is not enough reason to suffer those who genuinely need a drug that is sold over the counter all over the world! Same with codeine, I always had cough and catarrh back in my senior school days and benylin syrup(with codeine inside) was what was prescribed for me and it checkmated my frequent coughs....now because some junkies down bottles of codeine syrup to get high means that it should be banned? Forgetting the millions who actually need those drugs?

It's still being prescribed in government's teaching hospitals nationwide so wtf! Twas prescribed for me @ Igbobi that year. It was wonderful. The 3rd day I no quick cum. That was when I knew there was something about it.
