The most expensive part of the steel door which is the metal plate is sold N4,500 - N5,000

Prince Royal, Apata - Ibadan

What else would add up to make up the 45k door?

Double Plates would be 9k - 10k
Frames, welding, painting and transport can’t be 36k.
well I don't want join issues with anyone about this. I'm here to make money and the price at which I sell my wares is something I know I can do. If anyone wants to pay me 46,000 for the jobs I advertise for #18,000 then who am I to reject money. The opportunity to prove my worth here will come and I will take advantage of that. Thanks to everyone who take out time to engage me in a conversation

My oga, easy oooo grin grin I didn't want to quote your whole write up not to jam up space but take am easy oo..

I have not had any business dealings with this guy and don't know him.

But few points I want to address are,
making 2k profit on the specific doors he was talking about.. this is not unusual in business.. I once worked for a fortune 500 company that have a product line that they make no money selling it but it is very popular with consumers, but they have hundreds of other products that they make boat load of profits from.

The welder man here, does not only deal on that specific doors..I am pretty sure he does, like every other businesses out there have their bread and butter product lines.

Second, dealing with different business. That's not unusual either. Personally I have a white collar job but I have sold t shirts, cars, tiles, ladies wears , umbrella, real estate. Etc. Neither were my full time job just i hear about a deal, if it sounds good to me , I will jump in , make the deal , take my cut and keep moving, I am no expert in my side business, so don't ask me which t shirt material is better or which car brand is more durable grin. I just look at the numbers, if the numbers are good, I am in cool

If you have dealt with this guy or knew someone who have and the business went sour, kindly advise us here..

Thanks.

Hello house, please can I use 6inches block on a decking with 1 feet shootout even though i used 9inches all through at the ground floor? I used 35 pillars at the ground floor flats, can i reduce them to 20pillars at upper part flats of decking?
Is it manually made blocks are better or machine made with a bit of stone dust blocks. Please enlighten me more. Its not water logged, 6units of flats

You can use 6" block on the first floor cos it will give you more space but i will recommend 9" for the external walls and 6" for the internal partitions.
On the columns(pillars) i wont advice you reduce them cos it depends on the position and load they are carrying. Why not get an engineer to critically check and see if they can be reduced without affecting the structural stability of the building.

From Anambra to uyo is now 4k. But if you are warebilling it is cheaper. But, warebilling iron doors will cost even more.

What are the advantages of using 9" blocks for external wall?

I think cost of moving the item to where it is required is the main issue..

10 windows
8 doors

You'll need to spend about 400k to fix all doors, windows and bulgary (on low budget)... security is keyy.

You have 600k to plaster the living, dining, kitchen and 1 bedroom

there would be a little left to tile the living room at least.

Nigerians are fond of wasting tiles in name of protecting the wall from water and moisture, it's no longer rocket science that satin based paints are specially made for kitchen, bathroom or wet areas, you can clean them....unless they don't exist in Nigeria.

Correct! You got the name, Satin. I had to ask them the type of paint and they said satin. I deliberately stained the wall with my liquid polish to see what happens after cleaning and the wall appeared neat like that after wiping out the black polish on the wall. You wont even noticed that I applied polish on the wall where I cleaned.

The guest house cleaner is also on top of his job. Every morning, he looks out for stains and uses wet neat white clothes to wipe out any dirt on the wall. But mehn, PH people dey hear am with this back soot of a thing. If you touch any smooth surface, na so black your hand go turn to. Touch doors or car surfaces outside, you will pick black ash. grin

If you are building your house to live in yourself, you can tile only wet areas.
But if u are building for renting, oga, just tile every where else u will use all the rent the tenant paid to carry out renovation after he/she has gone. Some tenants are pigs in human shape.

You are right! Nigerian tenants could mess up apartments big time.

My dear, If I tell you say I know, na lie - My knowledge of building na from this thread and asking questions. I don't know if Satin paint is used for exterior walls. Note that Satin is not a brand but a product type. The building gurus in this thread will definitely intervene.
