When comparing starch content, which of the cassava variety will you advice one to go for as an experienced farmer, between White Lion and TME 419?/and what is the quantity of such cassava stem can be planted on one hectare of land, and at what price? Please i need a urgent reply to this.

Cassava is one of the commodity you will plant this year and you will not regret. If you are planning/subsistence plant by March and if you are planning on commercial level plant by may. Cassava has started to rise in price per tons which am sure will last till next year. If you are thinking about what to plant.plant CASSAVA.

If your farm is motorable, you have starch mill company near you and tractorable...plant cassava it will sell this year and next year. Ask around the price has rise... and if you know your way around,intercrop it with maize.

smile...the name calling is everywhere... only if I see the stand I will know it but that name I don't know. The one commercial Farmer are planting now is white due to is high starch content.

TME 419 is good... but most times what people call TME 419 is not even the stem they plant. way to know the stem is...it doesn't branche, brown tuber, light brown stem not deep.

thank you so much Sir for the response, I won't be selling the cassava tubers as they would be processed into garri. yellow garri is what we eat over here in Edo, I'm guessing the yellow cassava would remove cost of getting palm oil. I actually saw on IITA's site that d yield per hectare of the latest UMUCASS 42 & 43 outnumbers that of other varieties... I'm a newbie Sir, I'd really appreciate your advice

I always recommend this three varieties for farmers TMS 0289, TMS 0581 and white lion. TMS 0289 is very strong and do bear very well, the starch content range from 14 to 18. TMS 0581 very easy to manage, if you do your First and second spraying very well you will not need any weeding till harvest, starch content range from 13 to 18. White lion, after first and second spraying you will still need to weed it one or two time before harvest, starch content range from 16 to 21 which is why people like it (those that sells for company)

400 naira at the moment,yes enough bundle is available, and you will pay for transport. Am in akure.

no problems ask question and I will answer you. And, if you want to experience farming from land preparation to harvest I'll take you to farm but your own transport will be on you. I farm at ORE and OGBESE ondo state.

after you plough, wait for like 19-21 days, spray glyphosate (300ml), then ridge after six day, planting follow immediately.
